Lama cave call

Lamadongzhao, commonly known as Lamadong, was built in the Wanli period of the early Ming Dynasty (1573-1620). It is one of the birthplaces of yellow religion in Tumet area, and is located in Daqingshan, 7 kilometers north of Bikeqi.

brief introduction

Lama Dongzhao is located in Daqingshan, 7 km north of Bikeqi Town, tumed Left Banner, Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is about 34 kilometers away from Hohhot in the East. It was first built in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (1573-1620), under the leadership of chahanbogda I living Buddha, and expanded in 1658. In 1783, Emperor Qianlong granted the name of Guanghua temple.

Lama cave is located on the south slope of Yindong mountain in the valley, which is composed of two temples. In front of the temple, there are three Tianwang halls dedicated to the four heavenly kings, 49 Dajing halls with two floors and seven couplets, and 25 halls dedicated to Maitreya Buddha. In front of the hall, there are four inscriptions of "Guanghua Temple" inscribed in Mongolian, Han, Manchu and Tibetan characters. The second hall is the joyful Buddha Hall, and the East and West octagonal buildings are dedicated to the eighteen Arhats and Guanyin Bodhisattva. In addition, there are 7 yanluojun halls. The Buddha statues in each hall are all made of brass, with superb craftsmanship and lifelike appearance. After the temple built on the hillside, chisel mountain for the hole, building three floors, known as "palladium hole", the temple has the largest sitting Buddha. There are 124 stone steps in front of the cave. There are several stone pagodas to bury the living Buddhas in the northwest of the monastery. Most of the existing halls have been destroyed, leaving 124 stone steps, Buddha's mansion and stone Buddha statues. Lama cave is surrounded by mountains in the East, West and North, and a wide ditch in the south. It has bright light and wide vision. The front Temple rises from the mountain, with Tianwang hall, Dajing hall, Daxiong hall, Huanxi Buddha Hall and other halls. Most of the Buddha statues are made of copper with superb craftsmanship. At the back of the temple, there are Buddha's mansion. In the northwest, there are three white covered bowl Lama pagodas. The back temple is built in front of the silver cave on the hillside. It is a three-story Pavilion. It is connected with the cave and has a large Buddha statue inside. The stone steps in front of the temple are 124 steps, which are steep and not easy to climb to the top. In the valley, there are jagged rocks, green pines, swaying grasses and gurgling springs. The temple is hidden in the forest of ancient pines. The mountain wind blows on the pines and the thunder moves on the pines. With quiet environment, beautiful scenery and pleasant climate, it is a tourist attraction in the suburb of Hohhot.

It is said that bogdahancha, the first living Buddha of Lama Dongzhao, is an eminent monk from Tibet. He visited many places in Hohhot, and finally chose Lama cave. Looking at the environment of the Lama cave, bogdahancha and his disciples had a unique insight in preaching and building temples here.
