Simietang park is located at the head of Wuchang bridge on the South Bank of the Second Yangtze River Bridge, near the middle section of Heping Avenue. It covers an area of 84700 square meters of water area and 93200 square meters of green space, with a green space rate of 76.39%. Before the 1980s, it was a high-yield fish pond for the agricultural brigade.

After the 1980s, with the development of economic construction, a large number of construction waste accumulated here, and the water area shrank. In the late 1990s, in order to cooperate with the construction of the Second Yangtze River Bridge in Wuhan, it began to re plan. In 1995, Wuhan Bureau of landscape architecture built simietang into a small garden. In 1996, the Wuhan municipal government decided to build the simietang park on the basis of the small park, which was completed and opened in October 1997. After opening, the park's beautiful environment and good management order have attracted many tourists, with nearly 2000 people doing morning exercises every day. Park management activities mainly include amusement facilities, fixed facade and activity business point. Simietang park is surrounded by the East and West ponds, the upper and lower approach bridges of the Second Yangtze River Bridge and Heping Avenue. It is divided into four scenic spots: the cultural and recreational area under the bridge, the street recreational area, the East Park and the West Park. The cultural and recreational area under the bridge is dominated by recreational facilities, including dance ground, tennis court, chess club, entertainment world and other activities; the street recreational area is divided into East and west parts with the Second Yangtze River Bridge as the boundary. The area is mainly arranged by plants, with a leisure Square in the East and West, and Qingtian stone pillar in the East as the main scenic spot of the area; the water area of the East recreational area is large, with East Gate (Rainbow Bridge), floating platform and Juyue The main scenic spots are quqiao fish watching and yitingzhou (Lake Island). The island in the middle of the lake is formed by artificial accumulation. The landscape on the island is very exquisite, and it is equipped with a variety of Taihu Lake stones. Among them, "golden turtle watching the moon" is a landscape on the island.
