Guanlan Pavilion is located on the West Bank of Baotu Spring Pool in Jinan City, Shandong Province, China. It was first built in the Xining period of the Northern Song Dynasty and was praised by scholars of all dynasties for its exquisite construction. Later, it was transformed into a four side open Pavilion.
It was originally a building in the garden of historian Liu Zhao (Guan zhisicheng) in the Xining period of the Northern Song Dynasty. It was named "Chuanquan Pavilion" and collapsed later. In 1461, Wei and Wu, the Imperial Envoys, came to help. They built a pavilion beside the spring, which was called Guanlan.

It was originally a building in the garden of historian Liu Zhao (Guan zhisicheng) in the Xining period of the Northern Song Dynasty. It was named "Chuanquan Pavilion" and collapsed later. In 1461, the emperor sent Wei and Wu, the internal supervisors, to build a pavilion beside the spring, which was called Guanlan.
Main attractions
The pavilion was originally a long pavilion with four sides, semi closed, elegant shape, praised by the literati of the past dynasties. Su Zhe, a great writer of the Song Dynasty, was the Secretary of Qizhou in 1073. He chanted a lot about Jinan's scenic spots and historic sites. Among them, he chanted the poem "chuanquanting" on the day of "Lianshan takes Guo to Pingchuan, Fujian undercurrent springs. Turbulent autumn sound, bright moon night, pengpeng Xiaoqi to sunny day. Whose geese and ducks cross the river, and cows and sheep drink along the road at dusk. The filth doesn't harm the cleanliness, and the pavilion is still there every time it arrives. "
Now the pavilion has been changed into an open pavilion with four sides, cornices, wings, brackets, kissing animals on the top, and sitting bars on the bottom. Pavilion side willows, rockery show stand. There is a stele of Zhongli in the south of the pavilion, engraved with the word "Baotu Spring", written by Hu zuanzong, governor and capital censor of Shandong Province during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty. The western wall is inlaid with two steles, one is "Guanlan", which was written by Zhang Qin, the left governor of Shandong Province during the Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty; the other is "the first spring", which was written by Wang Zhonglin of Licheng during the Tongzhi period of Qing Dynasty.
After many repairs, the pavilion is now open on all sides, with flying eaves and wings, supporting brackets, a kiss beast on the top and a column on the bottom. The pavilion is built on a high platform in the spring. Pavilion side willows, rockery show stand. There are weeping willows in front of and behind the pavilion, and an ambulatory in the West. The pavilion faces Baotu Spring in the East. The stele of Zhongli in the south of the pavilion is engraved with the word "Baotu Spring", which is written by Hu zuanzong, governor of Shandong Province and capital censor during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty. The shape of the pavilion is light, smart and beautiful. It is the best place to watch Baotu Spring.
