Chongkang

Introduction to scenic spots

On the platform on the South Bank of the Yarlung Zangbo River, there is a small mountain village named Chongxi, which is covered by thick walnut forest, big canopy, green and yellow barley. The 13th Dalai Lama was born in this small village. The name of the village used to be "langdun", which means "at the foot of Xiangshan", because the hill in front of the village looks like the trunk of an elephant. Since the birth of the 13th Dalai Lama, the village has been renamed "Chongxi", which means the birth manor. The house where Lingtong was born was named "Chongkang", that is, the house where Lingtong was born. Villagers come here every day to offer incense, which has become their main religious activity. The old trees are towering and the trees are blooming in spring and autumn. The apples, pears, peaches, poplars and pines planted by the 13th Dalai Lama are preserved.
