Daguishan National Forest Park

Daguishan National Forest Park, founded in 1993, is one of the first national forest parks approved to be established in China, and also the first National Forest Park in Guangxi. Located at the junction of Hunan, Guangxi and Guangdong provinces, it is about 30 kilometers away from Hezhou City, 230 kilometers away from Guilin city and 254 kilometers away from Guangzhou city. The forest coverage rate is 93%, and the negative oxygen ion content is 69120 per cubic centimeter. There are many kinds of exotic vines and trees. Canyons, streams and waterfalls can be seen everywhere.

Daguishan National Forest Park

Daguishan National Forest Park is located in the east of Guangxi, in the south of Babu District, Hezhou City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, 40 kilometers away from Hezhou City, covering an area of 3000 hectares. It is a National Forest Park, integrating forest, Qifeng, Wuhai and chuiyan. The natural vegetation of Daguishan is subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest with subtropical monsoon climate.

Daguishan National Forest Park was founded in 1993 and officially opened to the public on December 5, 2012. It is the first national forest park approved by the Ministry of forestry in Guangxi.

Historical evolution

In the sixth year of the reign of emperor Ding of the Han Dynasty (111 BC), Daguishan belonged to Linhe county. Tang Wude four years (621), belongs to He county.

In 1952, it belonged to Pingle district.

Daguishan National Forest Park was originally a state-owned Daguishan forest farm. It was built in 1957 and is a state-owned forest farm directly under the Forestry Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Daguishan Forest Park was built in 1993.

In June 2002, with the approval of the State Council, Hezhou City was changed into Babu District. Daguishan National Forest Park belongs to Babu District.

On December 5, 2012, Daguishan National Forest Park was officially opened to the public.

Location context

Daguishan National Forest Park is located in Lingnan area, Daguishan in the south of Babu District, Hezhou City, Guangxi Province. It is 40 km away from the urban area, 10 ° to the north of Tropic of cancer, and close to Guangdong and Hunan. It is the only tourist resort with forest in Eastern Guangxi and Guilin. Daguishan is mainly located in Babu District, and its remaining veins extend to Cangwu county and Zhaoping County. It is 95 km long and 30-35 km wide, with a total area of 646.66 square kilometers. Daguishan National Forest Park covers an area of 3000 hectares.

The strata of Daguishan mountain are mainly Cambrian sand shale, with granite exposed locally. The outer edge of the north section is Devonian sand shale, which is dome structure. The mountain was folded in Caledonian period, and further uplifted and invaded by granite in Yanshanian period. Because of the hard rock strata and the development of faults, the mountain appears to be broken and steep, with steep slope and deep valley.

There are many rivers in Dagui mountain. The rivers develop along the mountain peaks and form radial water systems, which are rich in water resources.

The natural vegetation of Dagui mountain is subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest. The main tree species are Castanopsis fargesii, Castanopsis fargesii, Broussonetia papyrifera, osmanthus flavipectus, Phoebe bournei, lotus, etc. Plantations include fir, pine, moso bamboo, tung oil tree, Yugui, etc. Precious animals include Tragopan, Cervus, golden cat, pangolin, Silver Pheasant, partridge, yellow warbler, monkey, Qiong snake, blowing snake, green snake, etc.

Yunzhan Lake

It is one of the main scenic spots of Daguishan Forest Park and the starting point of the wooden bridge crossing the gorge. The lake is about 10 meters deep and cool. There is a teahouse in yuncang Pavilion beside the lake for tourists to rest or relax on the way. The kilometer wooden bridge has a winding path to pass through the gorge.

Tiankeng waterfall

It is like a white ribbon, the water potential is stable, flying down from the high rocks, falling in the canyon, beautiful scenery.

Tiancao Canyon

Giant rattan Kingdom

There are about 20 kinds of vines in Daguishan National Forest Park, which can be seen everywhere. The largest diameter is about 25 cm, and the longest is about 3000 meters. The shape is more peculiar, including round, square, flat, triangle and so on. And some rattan is the national special protection of precious medicinal materials, such as Caulis Spatholobi, Caulis Hedysarum, etc. The rattan world of such scale is unique in other scenic spots, so people call Daguishan National Forest Park Giant rattan kingdom.

Wuma Guicao waterfall

It is composed of five tributaries of the canyon. There is a small waterfall opposite Wuma Guicao waterfall. They look like Cowherd and weaver girl, so they are also called Yuanyang waterfall. The waterfall is about 30 meters high. It is the highest waterfall in Guidong area, deep, majestic and spectacular.

Liu Yangding

The altitude is 1208 meters. It is the highest viewing Pavilion in Guidong area. It contains a mysterious historical and cultural legend. You can have a bird's-eye view of the Linhai scenery and Hejiang scenery.

Former site of bandit's nest

On the eve of liberation, it was a place where bandits lived together. There were many gullies in front of the gate. The natural fortifications were as solid as gold. It was easy to defend but difficult to attack. It was always a place for military strategists. In the early 1950s, it was annihilated by the bandit suppression Department of the people's Liberation Army.

Park transportation

National Highway 207 goes through the forest area and passes through the general park.

Bus: there is a direct bus to Daguishan in Hezhou City bus station. There is a direct bus to Fuchuan County in Hezhou bus station. The ticket price is 16 yuan in 2 hours. The last direct bus to Fuchuan is 19:30. There are many buses at the back of Hezhou station. They run every 30 minutes, but when there are passengers, they leave.

Take a bus to Chaodong town in Fuchuan County, and the ticket price is 6 yuan. If you want to get a ride, you need to ask the local people. You can take a tricycle and get there at 1 yuan per person.
