Chengdu University Road

Chengdu University road is an east-west road. From Renmin South Road in the west to Hongxing Road in the East. It is about 20 meters wide and 800 meters long. It is also a two lane road. A total of 2 rows of 116 Wutong trees were first named as the Huaxi Concord University (now West Huaxi campus of Sichuan University).

Introduction to scenic spots

The bottom floors on both sides of the road are street shops, mainly restaurants, small supermarkets and small commodity sales. On the north side of the road are new meteorological Hotel, College of information engineering, West China dormitory area, school kindergarten, parasite Research Institute and Longjiang Road Primary School. On the south side are West China Campus of Sichuan University. You can see West China office building, north school gate, old library and Ningcun dormitory area. Among them, the West China office building and the school history exhibition room in the South were listed as cultural relics in Chengdu in 2001. Huaxi office building, also known as the whiting Memorial administration building, is a former Huaxi Union University Office. The project was started in 1915 and completed in 1919. It was designed by British architect Fred Rowntree, who is also the designer of the whole west China campus. It was donated by American Ron Fu. The old library, also known as the Lamont library and Harvard Yenching Museum, was donated by the Raymond family to commemorate his son. It was completed in 1926. After completion, it will be used as a school library and Museum. Now it is the exhibition room of the history of the trade union in West China Campus of Sichuan University.
