Qixia Temple in Guilin is the largest and most complete Tang style temple in China, with a history of more than 1000 years. Guanyin is the treasure of Guanyin temple. It is carved with white marble from Ya'an, Sichuan Province in 2002. It is 6.8 meters high and weighs 18 tons. It is the heaviest and tallest Guanyin in the area of two lakes and Guangdong.

Qixia Temple is located at the West foot of Putuo in the Seven Star scenic spot of Guilin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It originated from the Qixia cave named by Tan Qian, an eminent monk of the Sui Dynasty, after he visited Guilin. The temple was built in the Tang Dynasty.
Brief introduction to temples
In the Huichang reign of emperor Wuzong, an edict was issued to destroy the Buddha, but Qixia Temple was not spared. In the 17th year of the Yuan Dynasty, Tang Dachun, a Taoist, rebuilt the Quanzhen temple. In the Ming Dynasty, it was changed to shoufo temple.
Historical evolution
In the 8th year of Shunzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty, hunrong, a monk of Chu, spent 33 years collecting money from all sides. On the basis of shoufo temple, Qixia Temple was restored and became a famous Buddhist temple in Southwest China. After that, the famous place of Qixia Temple was repaired many times, which was seriously damaged during the war.
Restoration and expansion
At the initiative of many famous scholars, Qixia Temple was rebuilt and expanded according to the scale of historical records, with Tianwang hall, Daxiong hall, Guanyin hall and Sutra Pavilion. The north wing of the central axis borrowed Jiangnan gardening techniques, with curved corridor, Bailian pool, vegetarian vegetarian studio, Abbot's courtyard and listening to the moon Pavilion.
Layout structure
The exquisite Tang style Buddha statues, precious Dongyang wood carvings and the highest vertical white jade Guanyin in China reproduce the beautiful scenery of "Qixia real world". On September 28, 2002, at the time of Chongguang, it was highly praised by the leaders of China Buddhist Association and the elders of Zhushan. It was called "the most complete and exquisite Temple of Tang Dynasty style in China" and has been widely known since then.
