The former site of Qingtai second Hotel
The former site of the second hotel in Qing Dynasty, also known as Qunying Hotel, was built in 1933. Its predecessor was the second Qingtai hotel in Hangzhou, which was founded in 1910 by Zhang xunbo and others.
At that time, Wang Jinfa and Gu Zicai, the main members of the alliance, often visited the hotel, and Dr. Sun Yat Sen also stayed here. In 1911, after the revolution of 1911, the government opened the original Qiying into a new lakeside market. In 1913, the second hotel of Qingtai moved from xiayangshi street to Yanling road. In 1933, the hotel moved to Renhe road. Since then, many celebrities such as Shao Lizi, Sha Qianli, Shen Yanbing and Yu zisan have been in and out of the hotel. During the Anti Japanese War, the hotel was occupied by the Japanese aggressors and its internal facilities were seriously damaged. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, the store was taken back. In 1956, public private partnership was implemented in hotels. During the "Cultural Revolution", the hotel was renamed Qunying Hotel and later Qunying hotel.
Qingtai second hotel is one of the most famous hotels in Hangzhou during the period of the Republic of China. Its 90 years of changes reflect the history of commercial development in Hangzhou. As a physical relic of Hangzhou hotel industry in the period of the Republic of China, the former site of the second Qingtai hotel has been used up to now, and the overall layout has not been greatly changed.
