historical value

Dalian Bay Fort began to be garrisoned by commander Liu Shengxiu, the 13th battalion of Tongming army.

In 1894, the Sino Japanese war broke out. On August 16, in addition to leaving six sentries, the rest of the troops went to Dadonggou to meet the Qing army of Korea. Later, the third sentinel of the Sixth Battalion of Zhao huaiye, commander in chief, was transferred to Dalian Bay. When the Japanese army came to Jinzhou and Jinzhou was in crisis, Zhao huaiye was greedy for life and afraid of death. He abandoned Taiwan and fled to Lushun. As a result, the strong fort did not play a role in defending the territory.
