Xihulin Village

Xihulin village is located in Mentougou District, Beijing, about 80 kilometers west of the 109 National Road. It is under the jurisdiction of Zhaitang town. It is about 4 kilometers west of the town government. It borders on majiangou of Donghulin village in the East, Lingshui village by Hebei Liang in the north, gaobao village by Qingshuihe in the northwest, Huocun village by yangjiayugou in the west, meiwozhang village by Xiling and dananliang in the south Yang village and Fangshan District baodiwa, Daanshan and other villages face each other.

On December 9, 2016, xihulin village was selected into the fourth batch of Chinese traditional villages list. In March 2018, xihulin village was selected into the list of the first batch of municipal traditional villages in Beijing.

Evolution of organizational system

Xihulin village has a long history. It was called hujialin village in Liao Dynasty, and East and west villages in Ming Dynasty. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, xihulin village was mainly named Tan, Shi and Wang. Because the tan and Shi families bought land, operated shops and built houses, the economy reached its peak in history.

Economics

In the old days, there were more than 10 famous shops in the village, such as shidetang and wanlongdian. This shows the prosperity of xihulin village at that time. Ancient dwellings, chastity plaque and stage are the biggest attractions of xihulin village.

Xihulin village covers an area of 12.26 square kilometers, with 295 households and 602 people. At present, there are 1000 mu of cultivated land, including 650 mu of irrigated land, and more than 100 mu of land can be irrigated when there is much rain. This village is the only one in Mentougou District that has enough land to grow field crops. Xihu forest is rich in products. Now it mainly grows corn and millet, and also some sorghum, millet and beans. Most of the irrigated fields are planted with peach, apricot and walnut trees. In order to give full play to the advantages of tourism and rich forest and fruit resources, the village decided to take "Hulin Valley Tourism" and "coarse cereals processing" as the leaders to promote the development of folk tourism and characteristic planting.
