Nantianmen Scenic Area

On the south mountain of Putuo Mountain, it confronts with Xiaogu Daotou. Nantianmen, a stone bridge with a dragon like body, is located at the southernmost end of Putuo Mountain and separated from the island.

This place is full of huge stones and towering dangerous rocks. There are two stone gates in it, so it is called Nantianmen. There are three characters "Nantianmen" written in the middle, Longyan Putuo Mountain Nantianmen well beside, stone drum on the cliff, and lion stone on the top left of Putuo Mountain Nantianmen que.

In front of the gate is a vast expanse of blue waves and numerous cliff carvings. On the side of the gate is the four characters "Grand View of mountains and seas" inscribed by general Lan Li in the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty.

There is the fanyulin palace in the door, and there is a huge rock beside the temple. You can climb to the top of the rock along the stone steps. The top of the rock is flat, and there are two small pools. The pool water is clear and shining, commonly known as lion's eye. There are stone carvings on the rock, such as "Longhua assembly", "mainstay Nantian", "coastal solitude". It is said that this is the place where the eight immortals cross the sea. Zen master Zhenxie, the founder of Putuo mountain Zen, once made a living here.

According to records: in 1672, the Mongols built the PuCi temple and lived there for many monks. At the peak, there were more than 3000 lamas and Mongolians. It is a summer resort with great value.

Nantianmen scenic spot is located 20 kilometers north of Kangbao City, with an altitude of 1600 meters. It is integrated with Min'an beach, abugaimiao forest area and beishacheng sand fixation and protection forest. It is a characteristic scenic spot with alternate forest networks and different peaks. Nantianmen is composed of two stone peaks with different mountains. The east mountain is rugged, and the west mountain is hanging. The gorge stretches for three or four kilometers. The mountain pass is a natural gate, and there are clear streams flowing between the valleys.

Route 1: Puji Temple East (baibusha) - baibuge - zizhulin (Nanhai Guanyin open-air Buddha) - entering samadhi (Nantianmen) - steamboat Wharf - Haifang new village (Xishan new village zone 1) - Seafood Garden (Xishan new village zone 2) - Baotuo Hotel - Puji Temple West (Xishan Scenic Area entrance)

Route 2: Ferry Pier - entering into samadhi (Nantianmen) - zizhulin (Nanhai Guanyin open-air Buddha) - baibuge - Puji East (baibusha) - xianrenjing (Chaoyang cave) - Dacheng temple - Fayu Temple (qianbusha) - feisha'ao - Xianghui temple - fanyin Cave - Baoyue temple - Gufo Cave - cableway station
