Hanshiqiao Wetland Nature Reserve is located in Jingdong plain, with a total area of 1900 hectares, of which the core area is about 3000 mu. It is the only large reed swamp wetland in Beijing plain.

There are 153 species of birds recorded in the reserve, including 2 species of national class I protected animals, 17 species of national class II protected animals and 292 species of wild plants. It is the habitat and transit station for many rare and endangered birds.

In order to protect the typical reed swamp ecosystem and wildlife more effectively, the people's Government of Beijing approved the establishment of Hanshiqiao Wetland Nature Reserve in April 2005. In June of the same year, the people's Government of Shunyi district established the Management Office of Hanshiqiao Wetland Nature Reserve in Shunyi District, Beijing, which is mainly responsible for wetland protection, scientific research, science popularization, development and utilization.

Development history

The original name of Hanshiqiao wetland is Haizi

It is located in a natural low-lying area in the lower reaches of Caijia River, a tributary of Jiangan river. Due to the high terrain in the south, North and east of the periphery, rainwater and groundwater will flow from three sides to the west depression, forming a catchment area here. Because of this, it was also a place with serious flood disasters in history.

In 1958, the local government built the Hanshiqiao reservoir for flood control. At that time, the total capacity of the reservoir was 5 million cubic meters.

In 1972, the worst drought in a hundred years happened here, and the nearby wells became dry wells. It was difficult for people to drink water, but there was still water in Haizi

. However, due to continuous drought and other reasons in Beijing, the water level of the reservoir decreased year by year due to the cutoff of the upstream river, and gradually became a semi dry reed pond

. At that time, a villager named Rong Shuncai proposed that this place should not be called "Haizi", but "wetland".

In 2001, Li Xiaoxi, deputy to the Beijing Municipal People's Congress, put forward "suggestions on strengthening the protection of Hanshiqiao wetland".

In April 2002, Hong Jianming and other seven experts and professors from Capital Normal University put forward to the city and district "suggestions on bringing Hanshiqiao wetland in Shunyi District into the city and district level nature reserve system for rescue protection as soon as possible", which was attached great importance by the main leaders of Beijing. After that, the background investigation of animals and plants in wet land was carried out.

In December 2001, Beijing Municipal Government approved and reported to the State Forestry Administration for the record the "master plan of Beijing Wildlife Protection and nature reserve construction project", which included the "Yangzhen Weitang Wetland Nature Reserve" into the municipal nature reserve planning.

In April 2002, the 129th mayor's office meeting of Beijing Municipal Government deliberated and approved the "Beijing wetland protection project plan", which clearly listed the only largest wetland with an area of 10000 mu in Beijing as an important wetland in Beijing. It is planned to develop and construct a municipal Wetland Nature Reserve from 2002 to 2003, with a planning area of 1500 hectares.

Since 2003, Shunyi District has invested more than 20 million yuan to start a series of wetland restoration and protection measures, such as transforming and strengthening the wetland road around the lake, dredging the fire isolation belt, building Bird Island and bird watching platform to attract more rare birds, rejuvenating more than 600 mu of reed and completing 350 mu of greening projects around the wetland while building lotus pond and colorful water lily area.

In recent years, Hanshiqiao wetland has been actively carrying out wetland restoration. In 2008, after the completion of vegetation restoration and environmental improvement projects, the water surface increased by 1000 mu; in 2009, after the operation of the reclaimed water treatment plant, the daily treatment capacity reached 6500 tons, and the water quality has been significantly improved. However, Hanshiqiao wetland is a swamp type wetland with poor water mobility and a large number of plankton growth. Therefore, the release of two kinds of silver carp has a positive significance for controlling plankton and further improving the water quality of Hanshiqiao wetland.

In 2010, Hanshiqiao wetland was rated as the national science popularization education base (social public places). In order to build a good science popularization platform and improve the ability of science popularization, Hanshiqiao wetland applied for the special fund for science popularization. The construction contents include science popularization billboards, animal signs, plant signs, etc. In 2011, the infrastructure for science popularization was completed.

Division of nature reserves

The protected area is mainly divided into the core area and the experimentation area. The core area is 163.5 hectares, which is the core and essence of the protected area. The future development of the protected area mainly aims at the development and utilization of the area, and carries out the work of eco-tourism, scientific research and science popularization. Resource overview

Hanshiqiao wetland ecosystem is basically in a semi natural state. In Beijing, its unique geographical environment and excellent environment breed rich species diversity. The reserve has a large area of reed swamp, open water area and shore Grass, bank shelterbelt and farmland provide suitable habitats for a variety of birds, and a large number of birds live and breed in the reserve every year. In addition, the reserve is the only place for birds to migrate from north to south. Therefore, a large number of birds stay here to forage during the migration season every year.

There are 153 species of birds belonging to 46 families and 14 orders in Hanshiqiao nature reserve. Among them, Passeriformes is the most, with 63 species of 22 families, accounting for 41.18% of the total bird species in the reserve, followed by 21 species of 5 families of plombomorpha and 20 species of 1 family of anserina. In Passeriformes, 11 species (17.46%) belong to the family ploydidae, followed by 9 species (28.57%) belong to the family ploydidae and oriole.

There are 292 species of plants in Hanshiqiao wetland, which is a typical semi wild marsh wetland dominated by Phragmites australis community. Phragmites australis and Typha are still dominant species. The plants in Hanshiqiao wetland are divided into aquatic plant community, biogas plant community and terrestrial plant community.

Sightseeing Boat

The project is located in the dock of Gemini Lake Park. There are 3 large cruise ships, 120 battery boats and pedal boats. The boats are specially designed, with simple colors and integrated with nature. The sightseeing area covers an area of 1000 mu, including large water surface, archipelago water area and botanical garden. By boat, you can enjoy a variety of aquatic plants such as Euryale ferox, cattail, iris, lotus and water lily, as well as birds such as small oyster, heron, egret and black water chicken.

Wild fishing in wetland

The wild fishing area covers an area of about 200 mu, with grass carp, silver carp, carp, crucian carp, etc. the dense reeds on the bank make the wild fishing fun of restoring the natural environment.

The project is located on the south side of the twin Lake Park pier. There are 30 couple bicycles, 50 two person sightseeing buses and 60 four person sightseeing buses.

1. Botanical Garden (east line): you can enjoy aquatic plants such as lotus, water lily and reed; 2. Forest Park (south line): you can enjoy the East and West Lakes and forest landscape; 3. Huanhu Road (West Line): you can enjoy the large area reed landscape in the core area of wetland.

Real CS

The project is located on the east side of the wharf, covering an area of 80 mu. It is suitable for a variety of field operations, such as jungle guerrilla, plain war, highland seizing and so on.

The project is located at the northernmost end of the reserve.
