Shenyang Sanhao bridge is the world's first steel arch tower cable-stayed bridge. It has won the world's highest bridge design award "Eugene FIGO Award" and 2009 global road achievement award. Dr. Deng Wenzhong, the chief designer of the bridge, is a world famous bridge expert who has designed more than 100 bridges. The steel arch tower on the bridge weighs 1800 tons and is shaped like lily petals. It is also known as "butterfly wings" spreading wings on Hun River. Shenyang Sanhao bridge is the first steel arch tower cable-stayed bridge in the world. Located in the south of Shenyang City, Hunhe Sanhao bridge crosses Hunhe River and connects Heping District and Changbai industrial zone. The total length of the route is 1340m, two-way six lane, main span is 2 × 100m, single pier Double Arch Tower combined space cable plane cable-stayed bridge. The total investment of the project is about 260 million yuan.

geographical position

Sanhao bridge starts from nansanhao street in the north and connects with Changbai West Road in the south. It is located 3km west of Hunhe youth bridge. It is an important channel connecting the central area of the city, Changbai new town and the west of Hunnan New District.

Bridge structure

The motorway of sanhaoqiao is 23 meters wide, with two-way six lanes; the width of one side sidewalk and non motorway is 4.5 meters. The total width of the bridge deck is 32 meters and the total length is 1340 meters. A total of 10 pairs of slings are set on the main bridge. The longitudinal spacing of the slings is 8m, the width of the approach bridge is 32m, and the beam height is 2.6m. The main bridge and the approach bridge are integrated and complement each other.

Bridge features

The biggest feature of Sanhao bridge is the two huge oblique arches in the middle of the bridge, which look like two petals of Lily from a distance. These two oblique arches are the essence of the design of Sanhao bridge. Generally, the river crossing bridges are straight arch type, which is not beautiful enough. The two huge white oblique arches will make Sanhao bridge another landmark on both sides of Hunhe River.

Significance of opening to traffic

Sanhao bridge is an important channel connecting the central part of the city, Changbai new town and the west of Hunnan New District. It is also another important channel crossing Hunhe River leading to Taoxian airport, which will greatly relieve the traffic pressure of Qingnian Street and Nanjing street. According to the plan, the design speed of the bridge is 50 km / h. It is predicted that by 2020, there will be 4710 vehicles per hour at the peak of passing vehicles in this area, and the construction of the bridge can basically meet the traffic demand.

Won awards

In 2009, it won two international awards, the highest global bridge design and Construction Award "Eugene FIGO Award" issued by the International Bridge Conference and the 2009 global road achievement award issued by the International Road Federation, and was selected as the "municipal golden cup demonstration project" (provincial quality project) of Liaoning Province in 2009 by Liaoning Municipal Industry Association.
