Taoya waterfall

Taoya waterfall is located in Jiuhua Mountain Scenic Area of Chizhou, Anhui Province. There is a huge rock at the foot of Fengqi peak in the Piedmont scenic area. Peach trees grow all over the rock. The flowers are green. When the rock is in full bloom, it turns green, so it is called bitaoyan. Because of the precipice, the water flows down from tens of feet, like flowers and jade. This is the largest waterfall in Jiuhua Mountain.

Taoya waterfall, whose water comes from peach blossom, flows straight down bitaoyan. The hanging waterfall is large and long, and its potential is like Jianling.

Wang Jiwen, the Jinshi of Tang Dynasty, wrote a poem "a thousand feet of jade in the water". Zhou Fu of the Qing Dynasty listed this as "the first scene of Jiuhua" in the "picture of bitaoyan waterfall".

Below taoya waterfall is futaojian.

It is said that Zhao Zhiwei, who was practising in Jiuhua Mountain, was a child with crane hair in his old age. He was wearing a round collar and a wide sleeve Taoist robe embroidered with "Tai Chi and eight trigrams" patterns. His head was tied in a bun and he was wearing a yellow crown of "nine beams". Zhao Zhiwei and his disciples planted peach trees all over Fengqi peak. In late spring and March, peach blossoms were in full bloom and the branches of dry trees were as green as jade. Zhao Zhiwei often drinks with his disciples in the peach forest. When the peach is ripe, they don't pick it. They let it fall into the deep stream and drift away. The local residents enjoy their success and eat the sweet peach from the stream. They all say it is the "fairy fruit" given by the immortal family. Therefore, Jianxi is named "futaojian".
