Established in 1988. With a construction area of 1300 square meters and a display area of 300 square meters, it is the only comprehensive museum in Changping to comprehensively display Changping's history, culture and modern economic construction.

The library is a two-story building. In May 1988, the museum began to prepare for its construction and display. In September of the same year, the museum officially opened. At the same time, it launched its first exhibition, Changping County ten years of reform achievements exhibition. With a large number of objects, pictures and statistics, the exhibition shows the reform achievements of Changping people on all fronts since the Third Plenary Session of the 11th CPC Central Committee. In 1989, the exhibition of unearthed cultural relics in Changping County was held to display more than 140 pieces of unearthed cultural relics in Changping over the years. The exhibition of local evolution with Changping unearthed cultural relics as the main line has become one of the regular exhibitions of the museum. From May 1990 to March 1991, the museum introduced the exhibition of Comrade Li Dazhao's life story from the capital museum. In 1999, Changping County Museum was changed into Changping District Museum.

Changping District Museum is a new museum, which was built in 1988. After two relocations, it was officially opened to the public on December 18, 2004. Changping District Museum mainly displays the cultural relics unearthed in Changping area, interprets the historical development of Changping with various collections, introduces the cultural relics and historic sites at all levels of Changping, and publicizes the modern construction achievements of Changping.

Introduction to Changping

Changping is the north gate of the capital Beijing, known as "mill royal family, stock hazy important place". It is known as the "pillow of the capital". In the Jin and Yuan Dynasties, there were Juyongguan, longhutai and other dangerous passes. In the Ming Dynasty, the mausoleum was located. Today, it is the satellite city of the capital. Changping District Museum mainly displays ancient Changping cultural relics exhibition and Changping folk customs exhibition. This paper introduces in detail the precious cultural relics excavated in Changping. The basic exhibitions of the museum are: fine cultural relics in Changping area except for the Ming Tombs; reflecting the history of "Changping" as the longest used name of a suburban county in Beijing; introducing various levels of cultural relics and historic sites in Changping; publicizing various modern construction achievements in Changping. Changping District, where the museum is located, has Ming Tombs, Tank Museum and many folk tourism resorts, which is the first choice for tourism and leisure.
