Wudaokou

Time: 2022-01-30 00:04:11 Author: ChinaWiki.net

Wudaokou

Because it is the fifth crossing of the old Beijing Zhangjiakou Railway from Beijing North Station, it is named Wudaokou,

There are "four crossings" and "Shuangqing Road crossing" before and after it.

There is no three-dimensional crossing built, and all trains need to be fenced to block the passing vehicles and pedestrians. With the increasing traffic volume in this area, traffic jams are often caused. On November 1, 2016, Qinghuayuan station was closed and Wudaokou railway was demolished.

establish

In 1909, Zhan Tianyou presided over the design and construction of the first railway of the Chinese people, Beijing Zhangjiakou Railway. It was the first trunk railway independently built by Chinese engineering technicians and workers headed by Zhan Tianyou with their own technology and strength and funded by China itself. Because it is the fifth crossing of Beijing Zhangjiakou Railway from Beijing North Station, Wudaokou gets its name. With the rapid development of Beijing, Wudaokou, sidaokou and Shuangqing Road have become the last three railway level crossings in the Fifth Ring Road of northern Beijing.

Many people's impression of Wudaokou is that whenever there is a train passing by, the urban road traffic intersecting with the railway will be temporarily interrupted, and the huge flow of people and vehicles will stop at the level crossing. The completion of Qinghuayuan tunnel also means that the old Beijing Zhangjiakou Railway track laid on the ground will be completely out of service, and sidaokou, Wudaokou, Xueyuan South Road and other level crossings will become history. The new Beijing Zhangjiakou high-speed railway will replace the old Beijing Zhangjiakou Railway. After the high-speed railway starts from Beijing North Station, it will turn into Qinghuayuan tunnel, pass underneath Xueyuan South Road, North Third Ring Road, Zhichun Road, North Fourth Ring Road, Chengfu Road, Shuangqing Road, etc., then turn out of the ground and fly northward.

With the establishment of the city railway station in 2003, Wudaokou's economy has gradually flourished and its scope has gradually expanded. We usually call Wudaokou Wudaokou on Chengfu road. Wudaokou area is located in the west of lanqiying, east of Beijing University of science and technology, north of Beijing Forestry University and south of Beijing City College. There are many colleges and universities, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Beili University, TIDA University, Dida University, Beiyu University, Beilin University and Agricultural University University, Beijing University of science and technology, China Mining University, petroleum university, Beijing airlines, New Oriental School, is a cultural tribe; it is a small global village gathering people from more than 100 different countries. Wudaokou is the only place with no other place. Due to the gathering of colleges and universities, Wudaokou has a unique cultural atmosphere.

trend

The people here are lovely students who live frugally and walk in old bookstores; rock singers who travel around bars with their guitars on their backs; Americans who practice "disgusting and unlucky" riding old-fashioned 28 bicycles; Japanese and Korean students who dye their hair green and gray first; and, of course, Kazakh and mob teenagers. There are too many people with different cultural backgrounds here, trying to break through the language barrier to integrate with each other. Interestingly, when Chinese students answer GRE and IELTS test papers with one wave (sweat and tears), a large number of foreign students are busy with HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test), or discuss with great interest, such as what is the idea of "big headed ghost" that is often said in China. When bars are hot, Sanlitun has just formed a climate; the most attractive thing is the intersection There is a row of small bungalows in the South (which has become a parking lot). Almost all punk music lovers will go there to buy CDs. Of course, the products of these times will disappear with the changes of the times and be replaced by new elements. However, no matter how the changes are made, it is inseparable from the unique cultural atmosphere of Wudaokou, books, bar and cafe. There are many famous universities in Beijing around Wudaokou, so there is a sense of students in a small area. Of course, the students' atmosphere is international, which is very important This is a global village!

Wudaokou is also the seat of Peking University and Tsinghua University. A large number of well-known IT enterprises, such as Sohu, Sogou, Google, Netease and EMC, gather in the Tsinghua Science and technology building at the South Gate of Tsinghua University. The South African bar on the ground floor of the building has unique South African characteristics and gathers international friends of all colors. During the 2010 South Africa World Cup, there will be live broadcast of the world cup.

history

If you understand Wudaokou, you will understand why so many people use "tolerance" to describe Beijing. For it, what will never change is always changing. In March 1990, the Wudaokou workers' club, designated by the Organizing Committee of the Asian Games as the spare theater of the Asian Games Art Festival, ushered in the transformation from the dusty urban-rural fringe in the early days of reform and opening up to today's universities. Then came the upsurge of video halls in the capital. The cinemas that mainly broadcast Hong Kong movies not only had a booming business, but also let many young people see the high spirited Chow Yun fat, the charming Chung Chu Hong and the unreasonable Chow sing Chi for the first time.

Most of these young people are college students in Wudaokou. In the early days of reform and opening up, when the transportation was not convenient, students in Wudaokou, the "eight colleges" zone of the older generation, managed to the south of Xinjiekou, which was called "Jincheng". But later, the unique customs of Wudaokou made "city people" begin to dream of "Wudaokou style life".

Among the thousands of Customs Wudaokou has, the punk culture that can no longer be found in other parts of Beijing is the most memorable. In the 21st century, what many people think of first is still the disappearing "Kouchi generation", cockscomb head, leather clothes and leather pants, and the bloody punk music. Zhang Xiaozhou, a music critic, said that Wudaokou's status in Beijing and even Chinese rock music is similar to that of Dongcun in New York rock music. As early as 1992, the original Pink Floyd record priced 150 yuan could be found here. After the No.731 bus opened, many people had the experience of shopping in this secret supermarket for several hours. What is more impressive is the music scene of "howl" and "Happy Paradise".

financial center

The Graduate Department of the people's Bank of China (now Wudaokou School of finance, Tsinghua University) is located near Wudaokou, 43 Chengfu Road, Haidian District, Beijing.

The Graduate Department of the people's Bank of China was founded in 1981. At the beginning of the reform and opening up, the financial industry was in a state of decline. Under the leadership of the people's Bank of China and the strong support of various commercial banks and financial institutions, the school was founded. Over the past 20 years, more than 800 masters and nearly 50 doctorates have come out of the school, covering China's financial industry. Today, "Wudaokou people" has become a unique landscape of the financial industry. Wudaokou has experienced a process of development from unconsciousness to consciousness in training applied financial postgraduates. The most important feature of the Graduate Department of the people's Bank of China is the complete open school running. The tutor external employment system, the professor external employment system and the "walking on two legs" system all reflect the "open" flavor.

In the eyes of outsiders, because of its low-key style and outstanding achievements, the graduate department is somewhat mysterious and unattainable. Some people call it the "Whampoa Military Academy" in the financial sector, while others compare it to Harvard Business School in the United States. "In the United States, getting a Harvard MBA is regarded as a pass to business success. In China, this pass is the degree certificate of the Graduate Department of the people's Bank of China. "The report of the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong is a true portrayal of her position in China's financial sector.

community culture

Before and after the opening of the Fourth Ring Road in Beijing in 2000, Wudaokou area experienced large-scale demolition and reconstruction. Because there are many colleges and universities nearby, especially a large number of colleges and universities
