Ancient summer cave

Located on Gulangyu Island in Xiamen, Fujian Province, the ancient summer resort is a unique cave with granite boulders falling from the sky on both sides of the stone walls. It gives people the feeling that Mount Tai is on top of the mountain and is very dangerous. The above four words "ancient summer shelter" were inscribed by Shi Shijie, a Taiwanese scholar in the late Qing Dynasty. The cave is bright, dry, ventilated and fresh.

Behind the "ancient summer cave" is a poem, "sunlight rock, stone Leilei, ladder around the sea, Tiancheng Yulei, with the vast wind above and the vast sea below." It was written by Jiang Dingwen, a fellow of Chiang Kai Shek. After he "solved" the "Fujian incident" launched by the 19th Route Army, he hesitated and was in a good mood, so he wrote this inscription with some literary grace.
