Dafan Yancun

Dafan, when Wang family first moved here at the end of Tang Dynasty, bighead carp went up the river, so it was named bighead carp stream. Later, when Zhu Yuanzhang passed by to enjoy the scenery, he said with admiration, "what a big fan." he changed his name to Dafan.

From the Tang and Song Dynasties to the Qing Dynasty, there were three prime ministers, four heavenly officials, 11 ministers, 36 Jinshi, and 103 officials above Qipin. It is an ancient village with the largest number of Jinshi and Jinshi in Huizhou history. It is also one of the holy places for Wang family to seek their roots and ancestors. It is also the origin of She inkstone. Two of the top ten ancient pits of She inkstone in the Northern Song Dynasty are located in Dafan.
