The destroyer Deyang was originally the USS sasfield destroyer of the US Navy, with the side number dd-837, belonging to the gearing class built during World War II. He served in 1945 and participated in the Korean and Vietnam wars. In 1977, he was transferred from the U.S. Navy to the Taiwan Navy, and became a member of the "Yang" destroyer, board number dd-925. It was retired in 2005 and anchored in Anping Harbor in Tainan in 2009 to become a museum. After joining the Taiwan Navy, Deyang warship was refitted with modern "wujin-3", such as adding Taiwan made Xiongfeng anti-ship missile and 40mm rapid fire gun. However, after retirement, some more advanced equipment was removed and installed on other warships, and the single barrel 5-inch naval gun and other equipment in Museum state were different from those in service.
