Guizhou Provincial Museum

Guizhou Provincial Museum was established in 1953 and officially opened in 1958. The old museum is located in Beijing Road, Yunyan District, Guiyang city. The new guibo museum was established in 2007, started in 2010, and moved on June 28, 2013.

Guibo new museum is located in the north of the middle section of Lincheng East Road, guanshanhu District, Guiyang City, across the road from Guiyang International Convention and Exhibition Center and Guiyang urban and rural planning exhibition hall. Its skyline and architectural style are in harmony with Guiyang International Convention and Exhibition Center and Guiyang urban and Rural Planning Exhibition hall. The total investment of the project is nearly 600 million yuan.

The building is roughly divided into three parts: the central part, the eastern part and the western part. The eastern area is the public service area in the East, including temporary exhibition, intangible cultural heritage exhibition, photography and painting exhibition, 4D cinema, youth Digital Experience Hall, teaching, conference and other functions; the central area is the core functional area, with the basic exhibition hall of "ethnic Guizhou" on the first and second floors, the basic exhibition hall of "historical Guizhou" on the third floor, and other functions including hall, restaurant and cultural relics warehouse Room. The western district is the administrative office area of the museum.

The Provincial Museum has 111 people and 11 institutions, including office, organization and personnel department, security department, social education department, exhibition department, storage department, research department, nature department, information center, cultural relics science and technology protection center, and cultural and creative research and development department. In addition, there are cultural relics identification center and ecological museum research and development center. As of March 2017, there are 68 employees on the staff.

After nearly 60 years of development, the total collection of Guizhou Provincial Museum has accumulated to more than 80000 pieces. Ethnic cultural relics are the highlights of the collection of guibo, which is unique in China. Among them, China's Miao clothing bank and China's Miao silver jewelry bank rank first in China. In addition, the collection of Guizhou paleontological fossils, Paleolithic cultural relics and various cultural relics reflecting local history, culture and cultural diversity are also highlights of Guizhou Provincial Museum.

Evolution of construction

In 1953, Guizhou Provincial Museum was established.

In 1957, the old Guizhou Provincial Museum was built outside Liuguang gate.

In 1958, the old Guizhou Provincial Museum officially opened.

In 2007, the new Guizhou Provincial Museum was established.

In 2010, the new Guizhou Provincial Museum started construction.

On June 28, 2013, Guizhou Provincial Museum moved to a new one.

On January 24, 2015, the new Guizhou Provincial Museum was opened for trial operation.

In August 2016, the old museum of Guizhou Provincial Museum was transformed into Guizhou Art Museum.

On September 30, 2017, the new Guizhou Provincial Museum was fully opened.
