General Pavilion

Jiangjun Pavilion is located at the top of Hushan mountain in the west of Xiangshan scenic spot, the national AAAA scenic spot of Huaibei City, a national garden city. The general pavilion was built in November 1998. It is a pentagonal pavilion with a height of 7.4 meters and an area of 215 square meters. It adopts the structure of concrete column beam roof and glazed tile roof, and is surrounded by bluestone carved balustrade.

Zhang Zhen and other PLA generals climbed to the top of Xiangshan mountain to overlook the battlefields of qinglongji and Chenguanzhuang, and planned to annihilate the enemy. He commanded the last battle of the Huaihai Campaign, the battle of Chenguanzhuang. The people called this mountain jiangjunling. Huaibei municipal government built a pavilion on the top of the mountain and erected a monument to commemorate it, which was named Jiangjun Pavilion.

The three characters of "general Pavilion" are written by general Chi Haotian, former vice chairman of the Central Military Commission and Minister of national defense. In front of the pavilion, there is a marble stone tablet. The inscription reads: in 1948, hundreds of thousands of Chinese people's Liberation Army divisions fought with Kuomintang reactionary forces for the rebirth of the nation and the liberation of the people. Suyu, acting commander and political commissar of Huaye, and Zhang Zhen, deputy chief of staff, boarded Xiangshan and looked out Chen Guanzhuang battlefield, size up the situation, strategize, plan to annihilate the enemy, the majority of officers and men of one mind, go through fire and water, bloody battle, won the final victory of the Huaihai Campaign.
