The gate tower of Liu Shaoqi's hometown is located in the scenic spot of Liu Shaoqi's hometown.

Liu Shaoqi's hometown is located in tanzichong village, Huaminglou Town, Ningxiang County, Hunan Province. It is a national patriotism education base, a national anti-corruption education base, a national AAAAA tourist attraction and a national first-class Museum. Located in the west of Xiangjiang River in Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province, it is about 30 kilometers away from the former residence of Mao Zedong in Shaoshan and the former residence of Peng Dehuai in Wushi. It has formed a unique Golden Triangle of cultural and ecological tourism in the hometown of great men in China, and has become one of the most important revolutionary memorial sites and tourist attractions in Hunan Province. The scenic spot of Liu Shaoqi's hometown covers an area of about 10 square kilometers, of which the core scenic spot, Comrade Liu Shaoqi memorial hall, covers an area of 1300 mu, with a construction area of 35000 square meters. The main scenic spots include the gate tower square of Liu Shaoqi's hometown, the bronze statue square of Liu Shaoqi, Comrade Liu Shaoqi memorial hall, Comrade Liu Shaoqi cultural relics museum, tanzichong folk culture village, former residence of Liu Shaoqi, and Huaming ecological culture park Park and other attractions.

Liu Shaoqi's hometown scenic spot has received more than 30 million tourists from home and abroad since it was first opened in 1959 and reopened in 1980. Especially since March 18, 2008, when it was opened to the public free of charge, the number of tourists has increased year by year, receiving an average of more than 2 million people from home and abroad every year. Hu Jintao, Jiang Zemin and other major party and state leaders have visited here, and the total number of tourists in 2014 was close to 3.8 million.

The gate tower of "Liu Shaoqi's hometown" was built on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Liu Shaoqi's birth in 1998. The gate tower is 12.4 meters high and 15 meters wide, which is quite of Jiangnan ancient architectural style. "Hometown of Liu Shaoqi" was inscribed by Mr. Shen Peng, former chairman of the national Calligrapher Association.
