Huashuichong Nature Reserve in Babu District of Hezhou City is located in Babu District of Hezhou City, with a total area of 9929.0 hectares. It was established in 1982 with the approval of the people's Government of the autonomous region. Among them, the area of forest land is 8640.7 hectares, and the forest coverage rate is 87%.

Introduction to scenic spots

Huashuichong mountain belongs to the remnant of mengzhuling mountain in Nanling Mountain of China, including Heilu mountain, changchongding mountain, guanshuangding mountain, zhongpingling mountain, gubanling mountain, baiheling mountain, lengshuiling mountain, shuizhengling mountain and dalingding mountain. Generally, the elevation is between 300m and 800m, and a few peaks are more than 1000m. The highest changchongding is 1571.2m, and the lowest yangmeikou riverbed is about 170m. The whole terrain is high in the South and North and low in the middle, with a slight inclination from southeast to northwest. Around the mountain, there are many alluvial plains, mountain canyons, waterfalls, meanders, old river channels, Lidui mountains, barrier lakes, collapse bodies, staggered bodies, landslides, Mantou mountain, Fenglin, Shidan and other peculiar landforms left on the granite denudation surface.

Landscape of scenic spots

The nature reserve is located in the southern edge of the middle subtropical zone, which belongs to the humid monsoon climate of the middle subtropical mountain. It has the characteristics of hot and rainy summer, cool and dry winter, continuous rain in spring, clear sky in autumn, four distinct seasons in a year, rich water and heat resources, and has obvious forest climate characteristics. The annual average temperature of the reserve is about 19oC, and the average annual precipitation is about 1756mm. It is one of the typical rainy areas with large river flow. The main catchment areas of shuihuachong and luobaichong are only 60-70km2, but their discharge accounts for 1 / 3 of Dujiang river discharge. The hydrological condition of the nature reserve has a direct and important impact on the downstream farmland irrigation and the normal power generation of Linjiang hydropower station, HeMianShi hydropower station and Shangcheng Hydropower Station under construction. Huashuichong Nature Reserve has a long history of geology, complex and diverse topography and ecological environment, and superior natural conditions. Therefore, it is rich in biological resources, breeding many ancient relict plants and state key protected animals and plants. It is a natural gene pool. According to the investigation, there are 1046 species of vascular plants belonging to 178 families, 517 genera in this reserve, among which Alsophila spinulosa, boleshu, malyejinhua, horseshoe ginseng, Fokienia hodginsii, yinzhonghua and tourniquet are under the second-class national protection; Phoebe bournei, purple stem, Cinnamomum camphora, Toona sinensis are under the third-class National protection. The nature reserve is also rich in animal resources. Four species of rare and endangered animals under the first-class national protection are Tragopan, clouded leopard, leopard and python. The animals under the second-class national protection are forest musk deer, golden cat, pangolin, otter, big civet, little civet, spotted civet, Shanrui turtle, muntjac, hyena and forest musk deer. The abundant forest and water resources in huashuichong nature reserve lay a good foundation for forest tourism development, hydropower development and scientific research. With the establishment of Daguishan and Guposhan forest parks and the development of Huangdong Yao Ethnic Tourism Resort and Datang hot spring near huashuichong nature reserve, Guidong forest tourism circle has basically formed. After the completion of the second-class highway from Liantang Town to yingyangguan in Babu District, huashuichong Nature Reserve will become a new member with distinctive characteristics in Guidong forest tourism circle with its comfortable and pleasant climate, complex natural landscape and rich biological resources.
