Karakul lake is located at the foot of mostag peak, the "father of glaciers". Because of its deep and dark water, it is named Karakul. Kirgiz means Black Lake.
In front of the lake is a vast grassland. In spring and summer, there are flocks of cattle and sheep on the grassland, waterfowls and ducks on the lake, and occasionally swans foraging here. The water of the lake is shining in the sunshine, reflecting the majestic mostag peak. It is said that there are water monsters in this lake. Of course, the truth is unknown, because no one has seen it after all.
The lake will change in different colors with the sunshine during the day. At ordinary times, the water of the lake is as clean as a mirror; when the clouds are thick, the water of the lake will become black as if it had been filled with ink, becoming a "Black Lake" worthy of the name. When the sun rises in the early morning, the floating lake, like the sky on the stage, is constantly changing: sometimes blue, sometimes yellow, sometimes orange, giving people the feeling of being in a fairyland.
Kalakul lake is a plateau lake. It is located at the foot of mostag and Gongger ice peaks in bulukou township of Pamir Plateau, aktao County, together with bulukul lake. The distance between the two lakes is only ten kilometers. However, the scenery of the two lakes is quite different.
Karakul lake is about 160 kilometers away from aktao county and 220 kilometers away from Atushi City, with an altitude of 3600 hundred meters, an area of 10 square kilometers and a water depth of more than 30 meters. Because the lake is deep and dark, it is called "Karakul" (Kirgiz means Black Lake). Kalakule lake is rich in grass and birds, with beautiful scenery and legend of water monster, which adds a charming color to the scenic spot.

There are lots of pastoral songs on the grassland and wild ducks on the lake. This scene is like a dream. No wonder even King Mu of Zhou in the 10th century BC sighed and sighed. Atushi travel agency has set up a tourist restaurant on the Bank of Karakul lake, and specially employs Kirgiz, Uygur, Han and other ethnic chefs to cook different ethnic flavor meals for tourists. In recent years, tourists at home and abroad have been attracted to Karakul lake.

Kalakule Lake View
There are thousands of waterfowls and wild ducks swimming on the surface of kalakule lake. Occasionally, swans are playing in the water. Under the water, there are groups of fish swimming leisurely. The surface of the lake is full of light. In addition to the grass beside the lake, there is no living thing in the lake, especially in the kalakul lake. The water of the lake changes all kinds of colors in a day, which makes people confused. At ordinary times, the lake water is as clean as a mirror. But when the sky is full of dark clouds, lightning and thunder, the lake will magically become black, like pouring lead, black and bright, and become a real black water lake. When the sun rises in the early morning, the floating lake is constantly changing like the sky on the stage: sometimes blue, sometimes yellow, sometimes orange, giving people the feeling of being in a fairyland.
