Shuangmiao Temple

Shuangmiao temple is located in Zhanglou village, Luozhuang Town, Dengzhou City, Henan Province, with BAISHUGANG in the East, dajizhuang in the south, muyangying in the West and Zhao in the north. Shuangmiao temple was very prosperous in the Ming and Qing dynasties at the latest, and it has been changed into a school since the Republic of China. It is located at the junction of Luozhuang town and Zhaoji town in Dengzhou City, Henan Province. In the period of the Republic of China, it still belonged to Jiagu township. Jiagu township was withdrawn and merged into Luozhuang town and Zhaoji town.

Historical records

"Qianlong Dengzhou Zhi" records: "luozhuangdian has a collection in the northwest of the state Zhaojiaji Prefecture, 50 miles northwest Seventy miles northwest of jiagutan Prefecture Guanyinsi state North jiagutan. "

"Jiajing Dengzhou Zhi" records: "there is Xingguo temple in Sorghum in the north of the state, Zhugang jiagutan, and Guanyin Temple in nangu county.". Although the names recorded in historical records are different from those circulated, they should refer to Shuangmiao temple.

Structure and scale

The building of Shuangmiao temple is magnificent. It can be said that "the wall falls but the house does not collapse". There are mountain rows around the wall, five spines and six beasts, and steel forks in the middle of the main ridge. The main buildings along the central axis of Shuangmiao temple are the front hall, Zhongfu hall and main hall. There are East and West auricles between Zhongfu hall and the main hall. The main hall is Guangong temple, and there is Niuwang temple in the north of the temple, which is called "Shuangmiao Temple". There is a tower about 100 meters to the east of Shuangmiao temple, which is still called "tower Geda" today. Shuangmiao temple has formed assembly in its prosperous period. At that time, the land of Shuangmiao temple was very wide. From Kongzhuang to tugushan, it could be said that people did not go to erjiatian. People had to pay food to the temple to grow the land here.

Historical status quo

The Niuwang temple and pagoda of Shuangmiao temple were damaged earlier, and the main building of Shuangmiao temple was damaged from the founding of the people's Republic of China to the cultural revolution. At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, Shuangmiao temple had been changed into a school "Shuangmiao school". In the following period of time, Shuangmiao school was the Central School of Jiagu Township, and at this time, Shuangmiao school reached the most prosperous period. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Jiagu township has been split up and basically disappeared.

The name of "the first school in Jiagu township" gradually disappeared with the disappearance of Jiagu township. During the cultural revolution, the original buildings of Shuangmiao temple were completely demolished, "Shuangmiao brigade" was changed to "Zhanglou village" and "Shuangmiao school" was changed to "Zhanglou primary school".
