Lijiatuo Yangtze River Bridge is the second highway bridge on the Yangtze River built in the main urban area of Chongqing, so it has been called the Second Yangtze River Bridge by Chongqing. The span combination of the bridge is: transition hole (53m) + main hole (169m + 444m + 169m) + transition hole (53m) + south approach bridge (8x50m), and the deck is 4 lanes. The bridge was designed by Shanghai Municipal Engineering Design Institute and constructed by Chongqing Bridge Engineering Company.

Bridge structure

The structural system of lijiatuo Yangtze River Bridge is a prestressed concrete cable-stayed bridge with double pylons and double cable planes. The main girder is a longitudinal suspension system, the transverse limiting device is set at the intersection of the tower and girder, and the large displacement expansion joint is set at the junction of the transition hole at the North platform and the south approach bridge. The main span of the bridge is 1288m in length. The span combination is: transition span (53m) + main span (169m + 444m + 169m) + transition span (53m) + south approach bridge (8x50m). The width of the bridge deck is 4 lanes (with a separator in the middle) with a width of 24m. It is the largest cable-stayed bridge with two symmetrical cable planes (also called double cable planes) on both sides of the superstructure. The main girder of the bridge adopts flat solid double girder section, with rib height of 2.5m and width of 1.7m. The spacing between beams is 4.5m, and transverse prestressed steel tendons are set. Longitudinal prestressed steel tendons are set in the middle part of the mid span and part of the side span of the main girder, and OVM anchorage and high strength and low relaxation steel strand are used. The main tower is vase shaped with a total height of 141.5m and a rectangular hollow section. The cables of the bridge are arranged with fan-shaped double cable planes, the cable distance on the beam is 9m, and the unequal distance arrangement on the tower is adopted, the cable distance is 1.5-1.6m. There are 24 pairs of stay cables in each cable plane. Lm7 type cold cast anchor is adopted. The two main pier foundations of the main bridge are treated differently according to the terrain and geological conditions and combined with the construction difficulty. #Φ 2.6-3.2m variable cross-section bored pile foundation is adopted for Pier 2, and caisson foundation is adopted for Pier 3.
