Fujian Museum

Fujian museum is a provincial comprehensive museum integrating cultural relics protection, archaeology, history, natural specimens and art research. It covers an area of 60000 square meters and a building area of 35000 square meters. The museum area is composed of exhibition hall, nature hall, complex building and cultural museum training center. The whole building is unique in marine culture, and at the same time, it integrates the southern Fujian stone culture and Fujian ancient architectural style. Fujian Museum has a collection of nearly 170000 cultural relics and natural specimens, including more than 30000 precious cultural relics. The exhibition hall covers an area of 10000-20000 square meters.

Its predecessor was "Fujian Provincial Science Museum" established in 1933, and Fujian Provincial Museum was established in April 1953. In October 2002, the new museum was completed and opened to the public.
