Fenqi lake is located in Zhonghe village, Zhuqi Township, Jiayi County, with an altitude of about 1405 meters. Because this area is located in the middle of Alishan Forest Railway, it takes about two hours to drive here, and most tourists buy Bento here, so it is called the kingdom of Bento.

Old streets and railways

Before the Alishan highway and railway were opened up, local businesses had gathered in today's old streets and gradually developed. The old street built by Honghui used to be commonly known as "jiezai". During the Japanese occupation, it became an important town for making clogs. The village beside fenqi Lake railway also became a place of trade and an important distribution center at that time. Although the importance of railway declined after the completion of Alishan highway, today's fenqi lake old street is filled with a strong nostalgic atmosphere after the popularity of Alishan tourism, which is a major feature of fenqi Lake tourism. Fenqi lake is the largest midpoint station of Alishan Forest Railway. Before 1982, the forest train was the means of transportation to Alishan. It was about two hours' drive from Jiayi city to fenqi lake. When we arrived at fenqi lake, it was lunchtime, and we could hear the selling of "Bento, Bento" on the platform, which made fenqi Lake Bento famous. Today, fenqi Lake Bento is well-known in Taiwan. Located in front of Fenqihu railway station, sifangzhu is named for its square branches. It originated in Mount Emei, Sichuan Province, and was transplanted to Taiwan in 1924 after spreading to Japan in the East. About 200 bats live in the bat palace, which is located in the southwest of the station. They come in spring and summer, and go in autumn and winter, and regard it as the palace. Hero's cliff is a triple cliff with a gradient of 60 degrees to 90 degrees, which is a good place to train climbers. The natural moat formed between the triple cliffs is even more dangerous and tortuous.

You can enjoy the sunrise rising from the peaks of Oriental Yushan by standing on the top of the sun watching peak of DARONGSHAN. The seven star stone is composed of more than ten huge stones. The shapes of the stones are different. Some are like a pug, some are like a beehive, and one of them is as flat as a bed. There is a gravure on the stone, which is called immortal foot print. The huge tombstone is a small stone mountain about 30 meters high, with straight rock walls, which looks like a tombstone.

In addition, the local wild vegetables, bamboo shoots, Caozi and aiyuzi in fenqi lake are very delicious.
