Feng Zikai's former residence is located at No. 93, Lane 39, Shannxi South Road, Luwan District, Shanghai (near Baisheng shopping center). In September 1954, Feng Zikai moved to No. 93, Lane 39, Shannxi South Road, Changle Village, Shanghai. This is the place where he lived for the longest time in his life, and also the residence where he finally settled down. Because there are skylights and three windows on the balcony, the sun and the moon can be seen. Fenggong named his residence "the sun and the moon tower".

History Introduction

Feng Zikai is a member of the third and fourth National Political Consultative Conference and a deputy to the first to fifth Shanghai Municipal People's Congress. In 1960, he was the first president of Shanghai Chinese Painting Academy. In the same year, he was vice president of Shanghai Branch of the Chinese people's Association for foreign culture. In 1962, he served as chairman of Shanghai Branch of China Artists Association and vice chairman of Shanghai Federation of literary artists.

In riyuelou, Feng Zikai was sleeping in such a small bed on the balcony! Everyone was surprised. Only because after the "Cultural Revolution" began, the rooms downstairs were compressed and moved by others. The whole family had to be crowded upstairs. Feng Zikai offered to let him sleep on the balcony, which was a small bed that could not be stretched out. He needs a small quiet environment, and the more important reason is that he still has a wish in his heart, an unfinished event. In 1928, he made an agreement with his mentor, master Hongyi, to cooperate in the collection of nursing students' paintings on master Zhengshou's birthday, in which the number of paintings is as long as his birthday. Fenggong painted and Honggong inscribed. When Honggong was alive, he completed the first and second episodes (50 and 60 calligraphy and paintings respectively). Honggong proposed to complete 70 paintings at the age of 70, 80 paintings at the age of 80, 90 paintings at the age of 90, and to complete the sixth episode at the age of 100, with a total of 100 paintings. Feng Zikai vowed that "the promise of longevity should be respected." Honggong died in 1942. Fenggong continued to draw according to his teacher's instructions and wished him a long life. In 1973, perhaps fenggong had a hunch that he had not lived for a long time, but his teacher's instructions had to be completed. At that time, he risked a lot to paint 100 paintings with Zhu Youlan's "Animal Guide" as the painting material, and Zhu Youlan inscribed them. Before the rooster crows every day, he gets up from his cot and works at his desk in the dark. This will not affect his family, but also avoid the sudden attack of the rebels. Finally, he worked hard to finish 450 pieces of his masterpiece the collection of nursing students, five years ahead of master Hongyi's hundred years. Two years later, Feng Zikai passed away. After nearly 50 years, his long cherished wish for six episodes of painting and nursing students was finally fulfilled.

Introduction to scenic spots

FENGZikai's former residence is located in "Changle Village" at the intersection of South Shaanxi Road and Xinle road. It used to be a famous western style house community in Shanghai. Its former residence "riyuelou" is a Spanish style three storey building with a small garden in front of it, which is quite artistic.

Around 2008, under the leadership of relevant municipal departments, Feng Zikai's descendants renovated his former residence. Since 2010, he has exhibited Feng Zikai's life, paintings, literature, art, translations and calligraphy, as well as his representative cartoons and calligraphy reproductions, and listed all kinds of books published during the period of the Republic of China.
