Yutai salt shop

Yutai salt shop is located in dianchangnongkou, the middle section of Wuling Road, Xikou Town, Fenghua City, Zhejiang Province. It is the place where Chiang Kai Shek's grandfather and father opened the salt shop. It is also the birthplace of Chiang Kai Shek. Since the end of the Qing Dynasty, there have been two fires in Yanpu, and the existing houses were built in 1946.

In 1996, it was announced as a national key cultural relics protection unit.

brief introduction

In 1871, it was founded by Jiang yubiao, the grandfather of Chiang Kai Shek. The shop is divided into two front and back buildings. The front building has three storefronts downstairs, and the back one is a workshop. He mainly sold salt and wine, and also engaged in rice, vegetable cakes, lime and groceries, which were later handed over to Jiang su'an (also known as Jiang zhaocong and Chiang Kai Shek's father). In 1887, Chiang Kai Shek was born here.

Development and current situation

In 1888, the salt shop was on fire. All the shops and houses were burned down and closed. Jiang su'an and two-year-old Chiang Kai Shek moved to the small building west of the newspaper house. After Jiang su'an died in 1895, the rebuilt Yutai salt shop was managed by his eldest son, Jiang Jieqing. Around the eighth year of the Republic of China (1919), because of Chiang Kai Ching's going out for business, the salt shop once closed down. In 1921, it was destroyed by fire again. In 1948, Chiang Kai Shek funded the reconstruction. It was taken over by the government in May 1949. In 1984, the State Council allocated funds for renovation and opening up.

There are three buildings, three bungalows, and other ancillary buildings, such as kitchen and toilet. On the front of the gate, the word "Qinglu" is written. Chiang Kai Shek wrote "the original site of Yutai salt shop" in calligraphy, signed "Zhongzheng", and set it at the foot of the west wall in Leshi. Inside, there are counters and salt buckets, and various historical pictures and photographs reflecting Chiang Kai Shek's life experience are hung.
