Pingbiling ancient road

Pingbiling ancient road starts from Lingjiao formation, Tianli village, Wangcun Town, Xiuning County in the north, passes through pingbiling (also known as "furuling") and ends at Tangku formation, tuochuan Township, Wuyuan County, Jiangxi Province in the south. The existing ancient road is about 10 kilometers long, smooth and five feet wide, all paved with bluestone slabs. There are five pavilions (lengshuiting, Lingtou pavilions, shiting tea pavilions, furulingyao pavilions, and duqiaotou pavilions) along the way for pedestrians to rest. The pavilions at Lingtou and shiting tea pavilions in pingbiling have collapsed. The gable ruins are still there, and the other three pavilions are well repaired.

During the reign of emperor Yingzong of the Ming Dynasty, a nunnery named Zhufeng nunnery was built in pingbilingtou. Under Zhufeng nunnery, there is a temple called Wushui temple, which is the Liaison Station of the peasant uprising army of the Ming Dynasty (according to the historical records of the seven sons and thirteen stars). Now there is still the temple foundation site of Zhufeng nunnery. The site of Wushui Temple foundation is very vague in the local area. During the second Civil Revolutionary War, the Kuomintang troops set up machine gun bunkers, lookout towers, blockhouses and battlefields along the ancient road. Because the Red Army was popular, the Kuomintang troops were beaten to pieces by the Red Army (the sheep's intestines and small paths in the mountains and forests). Those ruins still exist today. The April osmanthus tree at the head of Lingjiao village is a historical witness of the battle between the Red Army and the Kuomintang. There are many bullet marks on the osmanthus tree. Two years ago, an American grenade was found in the tea garden 200 meters above the osmanthus tree.

Traffic information: there is a rural bus at West Bus Station of Xiuning County to Tianli village. It leaves at 1:00 noon every day, arrives at Tianli village at 15:30, and walks 800 meters from Tianli village to Lingjiao natural village.
