Lu Fu Tang

Lvfu hall, built in the reign of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty, is the former residence of collector Hu Jitang of Qing Dynasty and a typical scholarly residence in Xidi village. The room is decorated with elegant and scholarly atmosphere. There are several calligraphy, paintings and couplets in the front hall, as well as a pair of couplets with rich connotation and philosophy: "good reading, good business, good effect is good; it is difficult to start a business, it is difficult to keep business, it is not difficult to know", which shows the penetration of Confucianism into architecture.

Lu Fu Tang

Lvfu hall is located in lane "sichengdi", Xidi Village, Yi County, Huangshan City. Built in the reign of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty, it is the former residence of Hu Jitang, the collector and owner of bixiaoxuan.

Architectural features

Hu Jitang recorded in the dictionary of Chinese art celebrities and wrote the record of bixiaoxuan paintings. This is a residential building with front and back halls, three rooms and three floors, tall and spacious, elegant and simple. There is a large painting of "pine and crane" in the middle hall in the front hall, and a plaque of "lvfu hall" is hung above the middle hall, with strong font. On both sides of the nave and on the East and West columns, there are wooden couplets made of clay and gold, engraved with such ancient sayings as "filial piety ladder is the foundation of the family, the book of songs and the articles of the world", "things in the world make three parts of the sky wide and the land wide, and the heart has an idea to cultivate sun Geng", "the first good thing is just reading, and people have accumulated good deeds for hundreds of years". The hall is decorated with a "pressure painting table", on which a vase is placed in the East and an ancient mirror is placed in the west, which means "peace in the East and peace in the west". There is an ancient clock in the middle, and there is an ancient porcelain "hat bamboo" on each side. There are four treasures of the study on the table of eight immortals, and arhat chairs on both sides of the hall. There are calligraphy and paintings of ancient painters on the wall, including Cheng Lanzhou's regular script, Huang Yuanzhi's calligraphy and wood carving, Zheng Banqiao's bamboo and yellow stickers, and "cat playing with butterflies". There is an ancient wooden fan on the right wall of the back hall, engraved with the four ancient characters of "qingfengxulai". Once the rope is pulled, the plate fan swings back and forth gently. There are 12 wooden doors on both sides of the patio, which are all carved with flowers, birds and animals. In the middle of each door, there is a story of filial piety. Together, it is a picture of twenty four filial piety. There is also a goldfish pond under the patio and a rockery bonsai. There is a picture of Hu's ancestor in the hall above. The whole house is full of ancient style and scholarly flavor, with a typical style of scholarly family in ancient China.

Historical evolution

According to the Wu Shi Zhuan Zhi Lu of Hu family in lvfu hall, Hu Guansan, the grandfather of Hu Jitang and the leader of Hui merchants in the village, and Cao Zhenyong, the Prime Minister of the current Dynasty, are the family members of their sons and daughters, and are also prominent figures in the "prosperous period of Qianlong and Jiaqing". Hu Yuanxi, the father of Hu Jitang, was Cao Zhenyong's son-in-law and was once the magistrate of Hangzhou. Because he is a family of officials for generations, he is known as the sixth wealthiest family in the south of the Yangtze River. Therefore, he has collected thousands of exquisite paintings and calligraphy from song, yuan and Qing Dynasties. Hu Fuji, the successor of today's lvfu hall, often hangs and decorates the precious calligraphy, paintings and antiques that he has collected for many years for the appreciation of the famous guests at home and abroad. Lvfu hall has become a famous private cultural relic Museum at home and abroad.
