Historical evolution
Guangji Temple ancient buildings, with a construction area of 2900 square meters. The temple was founded in 611, the seventh year of Daye in Sui Dynasty. It was originally named Puji temple. It was rebuilt in 1055-1064. After many times of maintenance in Ming and Qing Dynasties, most of the existing buildings were built in Ming and Qing Dynasties.
Layout structure
Guangji temple is the main body of the ancient building complex of Guangji temple, including Guangji temple tower, Tianhou palace and Zhaozhong temple. The pagoda was built in the third year of Qingning (1057) of Liao Dynasty. It has a large volume, exquisite workmanship and Liao Dynasty style. Tianhou palace was built in 1725, the third year of Yongzheng reign of Qing Dynasty. It is the largest Tianhou palace in northern China with exquisite brick, stone and wood carvings. Zhaozhong temple was built in 1898 to commemorate the sacrifice of soldiers in the Sino Japanese war. It is the only one in China.
