Yunlong River ground fissure

Yunlonghe ground fissure is located at the foot of Enshi Grand Canyon in Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. It was formed at least 50 million years ago. The strata from the top of the ground fissure to the bottom of the ground fissure are mainly composed of limestone formed in 210-290 million years and spanning the Permian and Triassic. It is the only ground fissure with different geological ages on both sides of the Straits in the world. It is 3.6 kilometers long, 75 meters deep and 15 meters wide on average. Its banks are steep, with waterfalls pouring down and flowing water flowing at the bottom of cracks. It connects the Tianshui River and the mangmangqingjiang river. There are seven and a half waterfalls on the ground seam (one is called "half waterfall", which exists in wet season, but not in dry season, so it is called "half waterfall"). The ground fissure of Yunlong river used to be the undercurrent section of Yunlong River, sleeping underground for 20 to 30 million years in the form of underground river. Later, due to the strong erosion of water in the underground, the ground fissure constantly eroded on the surface, resulting in the collapse of the top of the underground river. Only then did it come into being, becoming a great spectacle of Enshi Grand Canyon.
