Judian Lake Scenic Spot

Judian Lake scenic spot is located in the northwest of Shouguang City, Shandong Province, 35 li away from the city, belonging to the village of Niutou Town, Taitou town. Located at the junction of Weifang and Dongying, the lake area covers an area of 25000 mu. It is the largest natural wetland in Weifang, the only natural lake in Shouguang, and the place where Shouguang keeps its original natural appearance.

In the past, Judian lake was formed by various rivers in the west, such as Zihe River, Yuelong River, Wangqin River, Zhinu River, zhangseng River and Yanghe River. At first, the area of Judian lake was very large, with an area of more than 50000 mu, about 10 kilometers long from north to south, 7.5 kilometers wide from east to west, and a water storage area of about 25 square kilometers. Later, after historical changes and good farmland transformation, it has now been reduced to 12000 mu, with water depth ranging from 0.3m to 1.5m. Judian lake has a long history. In the book of the Han Dynasty, Emperor Wu recorded that "in March, the fourth year of Zhenghe, the land was cultivated in Judian Lake". After investigation and demonstration, the place where emperor Wu cultivated in that year was near Judian Lake in Niutouzhen village, and Judian lake is well-known. Judian lake is rich in reed, fish, shrimp, duck eggs, crabs and so on. During the Anti Japanese War, the eighth detachment of Ludong Anti Japanese guerrillas of the Eighth Route Army led by Ma Baosan once haunted the reed marshes in the lake area to attack and harass the Japanese army. It was an important base for red tourism.

According to the development plan, star hotels and large parking lots will be built in 2008; the water surface will be expanded, and the Anti Japanese armed uprising headquarters, anti Japanese Uprising monument, memorial hall and other scenic spots of the eighth detachment of Ludong Anti Japanese guerrillas will be repaired. In 2009, we will build a cultural and entertainment center and a water recreation center, develop ten thousand mu reed marshes, and do a good job in the comprehensive integration of red tourism, eco-tourism and "Fisherman's pleasure" tourism. By 2010, the tourism functions of scenic spots will be further improved around the tourism elements such as food, housing, transportation, tourism, shopping and entertainment. The whole project is expected to invest 250 million yuan. After completion, it will become one of the four major tourist attractions in Shouguang, which are juxtaposed with ecological agriculture sightseeing park, Linhai ecological Expo Park and Yangkou Xiaoqinghe ecological tourism resort.
