School predecessor

Hebei Institute of architecture and technology

In 1952, Kailuan coal industry school was founded.

In 1953, Kailuan coal industry school was renamed Kailuan coal construction engineering school.

In 1960, Kailuan coal construction engineering school was renamed Tangshan coal mine school.

In 1965, Tangshan coal mine school was renamed Hebei Fengfeng coal mine school.

In 1978, Hebei Fengfeng coal mine school was upgraded to Hebei coal mine college.

In 1981, Hebei Institute of coal mining changed its name to Hebei Institute of mining.

In 1981, Hebei Institute of mining and Metallurgy (coal mining major) was merged into Hebei Institute of mining and technology.

In 1983, Hebei Institute of mining changed its name to Hebei Institute of coal construction engineering.

In February 1984, the Department of mechanics was incorporated into the Department of construction engineering from the basic department. In September, teachers and students of civil engineering major of Shandong University of mining and technology were incorporated into the Department of construction engineering.

In March 1993, the teaching and research section was adjusted. The original seven teaching and research departments were merged and adjusted to four teaching and research departments and four laboratories.

 

In 1995, Hebei Institute of coal construction engineering changed its name to Hebei Institute of construction science and technology.

In 2003, Hebei Institute of architecture and technology, North China Institute of water resources and hydropower, Handan Medical College and Handan Agricultural College merged to form Hebei Institute of engineering.

In 2006, Hebei Institute of Engineering changed its name to Hebei Engineering University.

 

North China University of water resources and hydropower (Handan)

In 1951, Beijing Water Conservancy and hydropower school was founded.

In 1953, Beijing Water Conservancy and power generation school was founded.

In 1956, Beijing Water Conservancy and power generation correspondence college was founded.

In 1958, Beijing Water Conservancy and power generation correspondence college, Beijing Water Conservancy and power generation school and Beijing Water Conservancy and hydropower school were merged and upgraded to Beijing Water Conservancy and Hydropower College.

In 1971, Beijing University of water resources and hydropower changed its name to Hebei University of water resources and hydropower.

In 1978, Hebei University of water resources and hydropower changed its name to North China University of water resources and hydropower.

In 1990, North China Institute of water resources and hydropower moved to Zhengzhou, Henan Province, and its headquarters was renamed North China Institute of water resources and hydropower (Handan).

In 2003, North China Institute of water resources and hydropower (Handan) was incorporated into Hebei Institute of architecture and technology.

Handan Agricultural College

In 1975, Handan branch of Hebei Agricultural University was founded.

In 1993, Handan Agricultural College was established in Handan branch of Hebei Agricultural University.

In 2003, Handan Agricultural College was merged into Hebei Institute of architecture and technology.

Handan Medical College

Handan health school was founded in 1951.

In 1951, Hebei health school Shijiazhuang branch was founded.

In 1953, Shijiazhuang branch of Hebei health school was transformed into Shijiazhuang medical school.

In 1958, Shijiazhuang medical school and Handan health school were merged and upgraded to Handan Medical College.

In 1962, Handan Medical College was transformed into Handan health school.

In 1975, Handan health school was rebuilt into Handan branch of Hebei New Medical University,

In 1979, Handan branch of Hebei New Medical University was renamed Handan branch of Hebei Medical College.

In 1993, Handan branch of Hebei Medical College established Handan Medical College.

In 2003, Handan Medical College was merged into Hebei Institute of architecture and technology.

Since the merger

In 2003, Hebei Institute of architecture and technology, Handan Agricultural College, Handan Medical College and North China Institute of water conservancy and hydropower (Handan) merged to form Hebei Institute of engineering.

In 2006, Hebei Institute of technology officially changed its name to Hebei University of technology.

 

In 2010, the Ministry of water resources and Hebei Province signed a memorandum on the co construction of Hebei Engineering University in Beijing.

 

In 2011, Hebei University of technology was added as a key backbone University in Hebei Province.

 

In 2016, Hebei University of technology was approved as the project unit of "basic capacity building project of universities in central and Western China" (phase II).

In 2017, Hebei University of technology was identified as the construction unit of doctoral degree awarding project in Hebei Province.

 

In March 2020, it was selected as the first batch of pilot schools of "emergency safety smart learning workshop (2020)" and emergency management college construction.
