TaoQuPo reservoir

TaoQuPo reservoir is located in the downstream of JuShui River, a tributary of Shichuan River in Weibei, and its dam site is 15km away from Yao county. The reservoir started construction in 1969, officially impounded in 1980, and passed the acceptance in 1984. The total capacity of the reservoir is 57.2 million cubic meters, the profitable capacity is 36.02 million cubic meters, and the dead capacity is 16.83 million cubic meters.

The normal pool level is 788.5m (784.00m before the spillway gate is added); the design flood level is 788.5m, the check flood level is 790.5m; the backwater length is 6km. The controlled drainage area above the dam site is 830 square kilometers. The average annual runoff is 66.86 million cubic meters, and the average annual sand transport is 904000 tons.

characteristic

The reservoir is a medium-sized reservoir mainly for irrigation and comprehensive utilization of urban water supply, flood control and diversified operation. The designed irrigation area is 318300 mu. The design level of the reservoir complex project is grade III, the main buildings are designed according to grade 3, the flood control standard is designed according to the flood with 100 year return period, the flood with 1000 year return period is checked, and the earthquake intensity is 6 degrees. The peak discharge with 100 year return period is 1780 m3 / s, and that with 1000 year return period is 3250 m3 / s. The maximum discharge of the reservoir is 1454 m3 / s for 100 year design flood and 2218 m3 / s for 1000 year check flood. The reservoir project consists of homogeneous earth dam, side channel spillway and high and low discharge tunnels.

In order to alleviate the problem of water shortage in irrigation area and the contradiction of water use in Tongchuan City, Malan River Diversion Project and TaoQuPo reservoir spillway sluice project were successively implemented in 1993 with the approval of Shaanxi Provincial People's government. The Malan River Diversion Project was completed in 1999, and the total water diversion capacity of the reservoir increased from 66.86 million cubic meters to 109.2 million cubic meters. The spillway sluice project has been completed. After the sluice is added, the normal water level is 4.5m higher than the original normal water level of 784.00m, that is 788.5m. The Xingli reservoir capacity is 36.02 million cubic meters, an increase of 10.16 million cubic meters. On the basis of ensuring the urban water supply, the guarantee rate of farmland irrigation is increased from 37.4% to 48.1%.
