Twin Towers

The two pagodas were originally named Wenxuan pagoda. In the south of Haozhuang village in the southeast of Taiyuan, the temple at the foot of the two pagodas is called Yongzuo temple. Because the twin towers stand out like two giant pillars, it is used to be called the twin towers temple. The two pagodas were originally named Wenxuan pagoda, and the temple at the foot of the two pagodas was called Yongzuo temple.

The twin towers, founded in 1608, took five years to complete. At that time, they were built under the leadership of monk fudeng (also known as master Miaofeng). Fudeng was very famous in the Buddhist world. Emperor Wanli of the Ming Dynasty granted him the title of "Miaofeng real Buddha". The original name of Wenxuan tower is to commemorate the Empress Dowager Li, the mother of Emperor Wanli of Ming Dynasty. She once worshipped the grandmaster Miaofeng as her teacher and was honored as "Wenxuan".

Two towers, North and South confrontation, relic tower 54.78 meters high, Wenfeng tower 54.76 meters high, 16 Zhang (50 meters) apart, is China's highest twin towers. Take the meaning of "the true words of Esoteric Buddhism with 16 numbers to show the perfection". The North Tower is all built with plain bricks, the base is octagonal, the glass edge is cut, and the color is gorgeous. It is an uncommon brick carving art of the Ming Dynasty. There are stone steps to the top of the tower, overlooking the panoramic view of Taiyuan.

Henan Shuangta

Shuangta, located in Shangqiu, Henan Province, is an administrative township. In the Song Dynasty, the song and Qi brothers of Shuangta got the first place in the examination. In order to commend the song and Qi brothers, the Song Emperor ordered people to build Shuangta. Therefore, the village of the song and Qi brothers was renamed Shuangta. After the change of time, Shuangta generally refers to the whole Shuangta township.
