Ihigh School Affiliated to Nanjing Normal University is located in Gulou District of Nanjing city. In 1902, Zhang Zhidong, governor of Liangjiang in the Qing Dynasty, set up Sanjiang normal school and affiliated secondary school. The affiliated secondary school of Sanjiang normal school was founded and grew up with China's modern education. It is known as "the epitome of China's basic education development". After several changes of name and address, the school changed its name to affiliated middle school of Nanjing Normal University in 1984.

The secondary school affiliated to Nanjing Normal University is a public senior high school directly under the Jiangsu Provincial Department of education, a key middle school in Jiangsu Province, a model school in Jiangsu Province, and a member school of ISC international school alliance. It is also one of the first batch of national model high schools. In the 1960s, it was listed as one of the three national pilot schools for educational reform by the Ministry of education. Since its establishment, the school has been famous for its "careful employment of good teachers, determination to experiment, honest school spirit, and good at cultivating talents"; it has cultivated "the backbone of society" through the storm of the century; it has gone through all the vicissitudes without changing its ambition.

Historically, the attached middle school of Nanshi took the lead in carrying out experiments such as the Dalton system experiment and the "633" educational system reform in China, which established the position of the attached middle school of Nanshi in the history of modern Chinese basic education. After the reform and opening up, the school has carried out the experiments of elective courses, extracurricular activities courses and compulsory courses, and established the personalized, diversified and optional curriculum structure, which provides the preliminary experimental basis for the determination of the new curriculum of national high school. Historical evolution

In 1902, the secondary school affiliated to Sanjiang normal school was set up;

In 1906, it was renamed Liangjiang Normal School Affiliated secondary school;

In 1915, it was renamed the secondary school affiliated to Nanjing Normal University;

In 1923, it was renamed National Southeast University secondary school;

In June 1927, it was renamed the experimental school of national fourth Sun Yat sen University;

In February 1928, it was renamed the experimental school of national Jiangsu University;

In May 1928, it was renamed as the experimental school of National Central University (CUHK consists of kindergarten, primary school, junior high school and senior high school, and junior high school and senior high school are CUHK's junior high school);

In 1937, the Lugouqiao Incident triggered a nationwide war of resistance against Japan, which spread to Nanjing in September. On August 26, 1937, the actual school of CUHK in Nanjing was bombed by Japanese aircraft, and the original school site was turned into ruins. After discussing with Xu Keshi, the director of CUHK, Luo Jialun, then president of Central University, decided to move the school to Tunxi, Anhui Province, and started the migration of the high school attached to the Anti Japanese war. The secondary school affiliated to National Central University (National No.14 Middle School) was set up in Qingmuguan, Chongqing, and a branch school attached to CUHK was set up in Shapingba in 1942;

In mid August 1938, the University sent people to Guiyang for investigation. After discussing with the government, it decided to build the school in Ma'anshan, Guiyang. Later, in order to be far away from Chongqing in Ma'anshan, it was not convenient for the students of Central University to go to Ma'anshan for internship, so in 1941, the name of CUHK changed with the national No.14 Middle School (which moved to Chongqing at that time). When the decision was made, the teachers and students of the CUHK in Ma'anshan were very angry. Then president Yang Xizhen resigned angrily, and some teachers left;

Around September 1938, the teachers and students arrived in Tunxi, Anhui Province. Due to the local conditions, they had to teach in a ancestral hall. The environment was harsh. Due to the deepening of the Anti Japanese War, Tunxi, Anhui province became precarious. After that, the attached middle school began to move on and arrived at Yuelu Mountain in Changsha in December.

In 1946, the following year after the victory of the Anti Japanese War, the affiliated middle schools of Zhongda Shizhong, qingmuguanzhong and Shapingba moved back to Nanjing and merged into the Affiliated Middle School of National Central University;

In August 1949, it was renamed National Nanjing University affiliated middle school;

In October 1950, it was called the middle school affiliated to Nanjing University;

In 1952, the normal college of Nanjing University was established as Nanjing Normal College, and the secondary school affiliated to Nanjing University was changed into the secondary school affiliated to Nanjing Normal College;

In 1968, it was renamed Lu Xun middle school in Nanjing;

In 1978, it was restored to a secondary school affiliated to Nanjing Normal University;

In 1984, Nanjing Normal University was renamed as Nanjing Normal University, and the secondary school affiliated to Nanjing Normal University was renamed as the secondary school affiliated to Nanjing Normal University;

In 2002, he founded Jiangning branch of middle school affiliated to Nanjing Normal University and Nanjing Shuren international school;

In 2005, he founded Xincheng junior high school affiliated to Nanjing Normal University;

In 2009, founded Nanjing Shuren International School Suqian branch;

In 2012, he founded Xianlin school, a middle school affiliated to Nanjing Normal University;

In 2013, Nanjing Shuren international school was renamed as Shuren School of secondary school affiliated to Nanjing Normal University, and Suqian branch of Nanjing Shuren international school was renamed as Suqian branch of secondary school affiliated to Nanjing Normal University.

On June 15, 2018, he joined the "China excellent high school alliance".

The secondary school affiliated to Nanjing Normal University has built a campus network covering the whole school, a supporting campus website and an office automation platform, and completed the full coverage of campus Wi Fi in 2014. The teaching facilities have the information function. The middle school affiliated to Nanjing Normal University has a teaching building, an office building, an art center, a science and Technology Experiment Center, a library, a school history museum, a canteen, a dormitory and a sports center. The teaching and living conditions are good.

As of 2014, the secondary school affiliated to Nanjing Normal University has built digital library, iPad classroom, Internet of things laboratory, high-end science laboratory, and opened corresponding science inquiry experiment courses.
