Zhongquan

Zhongquan is located in the east of Nanchou Road, Zhongquan village, Licheng District, Jinan City. It is said that Li Shimin, the king of the Tang Dynasty, led his army to March eastward to this point. The soldiers could not bear to drink and suddenly gushed out a sweet spring to cool and quench their thirst.

In the past, the spring water gushed out from the rock crack and accumulated into a depression. The word "Zhongquan" was engraved on the rock wall, which is now clearly visible. Later, because of the widening of the road, the water was buried under the road. The spring water changed from the underground to flow through the road into the new pool, and then flowed into the Juye River from the pool wall. The water in the pool is clear and does not dry up after a long drought.
