Mingyue gorge ancient plank road is located at the mouth of Jialing River in Chaotian District of Guangyuan City. It is the starting point of the national Jianmen Shu Road scenic tourism line and a key cultural relic protection unit at the provincial level.

Mingyue gorge plank road was excavated from the Warring States period to the Song Dynasty. The earliest one has a history of more than 2300 years. Many foreign friends come to Guangyuan to enjoy seeing the style of ancient plank road. People's Daily published evaluation articles, and films and TV plays such as the romance of the Three Kingdoms, King Liu Bang of the Han Dynasty and the garland under the mountains were filmed on location in Mingyue gorge. Today, although the real ancient plank road no longer exists, its far-reaching influence and long history will make its historical records remain famous and its relics remain.

Surrounding environment

Chaotian gorge is located in the north of Guangyuan City, about 30 kilometers south of Chaotian Town, and two kilometers south of Jialing River. The total length of the gorge is about 4 kilometers, the width is about 100 meters, and the stone cliffs stand on both sides. To the east of the gorge is the famous Chaotian ridge, which is about 2 kilometers deep. It is a gorge formed by the Jialing River breaking through the mountains.
