Dongmen site

The Dongmen site has been excavated for three times since 2000. The gate, ancient artillery position and ancient city wall relics are reconstructed in 2009 with reference to the Song Dynasty city wall and double eaves Xieshan dingmenlou. Today, Dongmen site has become a good place for Yangzhou citizens to have fun and leisure, and also a beautiful scenery in Yangzhou.

Dongmen site

Dongmen site was built in the middle of Tang Dynasty. The gate and wall were repaired in the Five Dynasties, Song Dynasty, Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty, covering an area of about 16 square kilometers. In the three archaeological excavations since 2000, it has been found that the Chengmen remains of the Tang, Five Dynasties, Northern Song and Southern Song dynasties have a clear overlapping relationship, and the wall is about 15-20 meters thick. The gate is 6.07 meters wide. According to the relevant records in the Song Dynasty's "Zao Zao FA Shi" and the previous archaeological drilling findings, it is speculated that the wall is about 10 meters high.

Introduction to scenic spots

In 2006, Yangzhou built the Dongmen ruins park. In 2009, referring to the Song Dynasty's "construction method", it rebuilt the city wall and the gate tower on the top of the mountain, in order to reproduce the magnificent appearance of Yangzhou in the Song Dynasty.
