Heqing Caohai

Caohai in Heqing is a plateau water town, which is located in Bazi of Heqing. Because there are many springs at the foot of the East and West Mountains of Bazi, and the water system of Yanggong River Basin keeps flowing, a wide natural Caohai wetland is formed in Bazi of Heqing. Caohai wetland is named because of its shallow water. Every autumn, villagers around the Caohai wetland go to the sea to fish for water and grass manure. Caohai is divided into the North Sea, the middle sea, the South China Sea and the East China Sea. The maximum water depth is 2.6 meters, and the average water depth is 1.6 meters. The water surface is 2193.2 meters above sea level, and the annual water inflow reaches 2.4 million cubic meters. Caohai water area is connected with Yanggong river through streams, ditches and fields. The rivers and canals are crisscross and wooden boats come and go, which is quite like the scenery of Jiangnan Water Town
