Historical evolution

From 1282 to 1294, Tianfei temple was built

Architectural pattern

Tianfei Palace site is located in Dazhigu Middle Road, Hedong District, Tianjin. Cultural relics

From September to October in 1997, the remnant stone headstone of Tianfei stele in lingci palace, rebuilt in Ming Dynasty, was successively found in the Tianfei Palace site. The headstone is 2.6 meters high and 0.9 meters wide, with 13 lines and 40 characters in each line. There are four remnant characters and dragon patterns on the headstone, and a stone turtle shaped pedestal was found. From December 1998 to January 1999, blue glazed tube tiles of the Yuan Dynasty, green glazed tube tiles of the Ming Dynasty and ridge decorated tube tiles of the Qing Dynasty were unearthed from the Tianfei Palace site

History and culture

After the establishment of Dadu (Beijing) as the capital of Yuan Dynasty, in order to solve the food supply problem of Dadu, the water transportation from southeast coast to Zhigu was opened up, and the food and other material resources from southeast coast were continuously transported to Dadu. In order to ensure the safety of sea navigation, the Yuan government built Tianfei lingci palace in Dazhigu during the reign of emperor Shizu to yuan (1282-1294), which was the earliest Mazu temple in northern China Together with Mazu temple in Meizhou, Fujian and Chaotian Palace in Beigang, Taiwan, they are called the three Mazu temples in China
