Fahuasi is located in fahuasi street, Chongwen District, with an unknown age. It was rebuilt during the reign of Emperor Kangxi and Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty. It is one of the great temples in the outer city of Beijing. The building has a mountain gate, a three story hall and East and west side halls. The gate of the mountain is built on the top of the mountain with three gaps. The lattice windows are between the two times of the gate. There is a plaque "Daxing fahua Temple" on the main gate. The East and west side halls also have three bays. In the Qing Dynasty, the area around fahua temple was the place where eight banners were stationed, which was called barracks. In 1661, Zhenglan Banner church was set up. The temple is a key cultural relic in Chongwen District.
