Genghis Khan Cultural Square

Genghis Khan Cultural Square is located 13 kilometers southeast of Xilinhot City, Xilin Gol League, at the south foot of zhuolan mountain, covering an area of 7 square kilometers. The square is backed by Xilin River reservoir, facing Huiteng Xile grassland in the south, with scenic spots on both sides, On the east side are the famous Jiudian Bay xiritala 2A scenic spot, xiritala migratory bird viewing area and xiritala resort. On the right side are the educated youth Oboo and the grassland wonder Pingdingshan. Xisang railway and 207 National Road respectively pass through the East and west sides of the square.

The emergence of Cultural Square

Xilingol Grassland is not only one of the birthplaces of Mongolian, but also the place where Genghis Khan and his descendants went to the Central Plains and the world. In the process of unifying Mongolian tribes, Genghis Khan fought the famous battle of wuluhui in the Ulagai River Basin of Dongwu banner, broke through the defense line of Jin Dynasty for the first time in wushabu of XISU banner, and started the journey of destroying Jin Dynasty, and fought the famous battle of Yehuling in Taiqi and its south, annihilating 300000 elite of Jin Dynasty Therefore, there are many legends about Genghis Khan in Xilingol prairie.

Kublai Khan, the grandson of Genghis Khan, inherited the throne on the Xilingol Grassland, established the Great Yuan Empire, and built the famous capital of the Yuan Dynasty on the Xilingol Grassland; eight emperors of the Yuan Dynasty also succeeded to the throne. Therefore, since Kublai Khan, the emperor of the Yuan Dynasty has really become the hometown of Xilinguole grassland.

Design of Cultural Square

In order to carry forward the national culture, the construction of Genghis Khan Cultural Square began in Xilinhot in 2002. The proposed Genghis Khan Cultural Square is mainly composed of nine parts: ancestral area, Genghis Khan's main sculpture group, golden family Obo, Yuan Dynasty flourishing sculpture group, scientific and cultural celebrity sculpture group, Huoding area, folk custom area, four golden tent Khanate and Timur khanate, and religious area. The damenmen scenic area, a car parking lot with capacity of about 1000 vehicles, a party viewing platform with capacity of 1700 people, a 6000 square meter round performance venue, a 1000 meter racetrack racecourse, a sacrificial cauldron and a chariot exhibition hall have been built. Other construction contents are under construction one after another. Genghis Khan Cultural Square is the epitome of Mongolian history. It shows the history, culture, production and living customs of Mongolian people by means of stone carving, various legends and modern means. Genghis Khan Cultural Square reproduces the vast Mongolian Yuan culture, which integrates the history, knowledge, interest and entertainment. By visiting Genghis Khan Cultural Square, it can appreciate the golden age, iron horse and Xiongmou, and have a systematic understanding of Mongolian history.
