Chongqing Industrial and Commercial University is a key construction university in Chongqing. It is built close to the mountain. The whole campus is a slope. It is very difficult for students to go to and from class. The small campus is the epitome of Chongqing's mountain city.

The origin of the predecessor

yuzhou university

In 1952, approved by the Southwest Military and political Commission, Chongqing mechanical and electrical industry school was founded.

In 1953, Chongqing Electromechanical industry school, Chengdu Machinery Industry School, Wanxian industry school and WUTONGQIAO Industry School merged to form Chongqing Machinery Industry School.

In 1953, Chongqing Machinery Industry School was renamed Chongqing Machinery Manufacturing school.

In 1958, Chongqing Machinery Manufacturing school was renamed Chongqing second machinery manufacturing industrial school.

In 1970, Chongqing No.2 machinery manufacturing industrial school was abolished.

In 1972, Chongqing No.2 machinery manufacturing industrial school resumed.

In 1975, Chongqing No.2 machinery manufacturing industry school was renamed Chongqing No.2 machinery industry school.

In 1978, with the approval of the former State Education Commission, Yuzhou University was established under the jurisdiction of Chongqing.

In 1981, Chongqing No.2 School of mechanical industry was incorporated into Yuzhou University.

In 1984, the University was approved by the Ministry of education as a full-time ordinary university in Chongqing.

In 1985, the University was granted the right to confer a bachelor's degree.

In 1963, Chongqing Finance and trade cadre school was founded.

In 1964, Chongqing supply and marketing school was founded.

In 1965, Chongqing first commercial part-time school was founded.

In 1965, Chongqing second commercial part-time school was founded.

In 1972, Chongqing Finance and trade cadre school, Chongqing supply and marketing school, Chongqing first commercial part-time school and Chongqing second commercial part-time school merged to form Chongqing Finance and trade school.

In 1985, Chongqing Finance and trade school (resources) was upgraded to Chongqing Business School, under the former Ministry of Commerce.

In 1991, the University was granted the right to confer a bachelor's degree.

In September 1998, the school was transferred to Chongqing, where the central and local governments jointly built the school, with Chongqing as the main management.

 

Merger development

In January 2002, Yuzhou University and Chongqing Business School merged to form Chongqing Business University.

 

In April 2006, the University was selected as the second batch of "National College Students' cultural quality education base".

 

In May 2011, Chongqing Institute of finance was established in the school of finance, Chongqing University of technology and industry.

 

In 2012, the University was selected as the "doctoral personnel training project serving the special needs of the country";

 

In the same year, the University was selected by the Ministry of education as "2011-2012 National Graduate Employment typical experience university".

 

In May 2013, the University was selected into the national "Midwest university basic capacity building project".

 

In September 2014, the University was selected as one of the first batch of Pilot Universities in the reform of "excellent agriculture and forestry talents education and training plan".

 

In November 2018, the University was approved to establish academician and expert workstation.

As of January 2020, the school has more than 2300 teaching staff, more than 1800 full-time teachers and more than 800 doctoral degree teachers.
