The former site of the commune

The people's commune is a special product of a special historical period in modern China. In 1958, the whole country set off a vigorous people's communization movement. Under this situation, the people's commune was also established in Fengwei township (now the rural part outside Fengjing town), named rocket people's commune. In March of the next year, it was still renamed Fengwei People's commune. Until January 1984, according to the spirit of the higher authorities, Fengwei People's commune was restored to Fengwei Township People's government. In 26 years and a quarter of a century, it was the office of the people's commune at that time.
