Laga temple was originally named "Zhaxi Gongdelin" (auspicious Guang'an Temple), and later renamed "Gandan Zhaxi jiongni" (the source of good fortune), also known as "Jiayang Temple". It is the most famous Gelug Temple along the Yellow River in our province. The temple was founded by arugexi and belongs to sera temple.

Laga temple is located in the northeast of Maqin County, Qinghai Province, on the North Bank of the Yellow River, at the foot of the mountain of aniqungong (meaning: Dapeng spreads its wings). Sitting east to west, it faces the Yellow River. Before that, the Yellow River bridge built in 1986 can reach the other bank. It is 76 kilometers away from Dawu town.

It is the most famous Gelug Temple along the Yellow River in our province. The temple was founded by arugexi and belongs to sera temple.

Ahrougesi, named jianzan eser (1726-1803), was a member of the ahrou tribe. He entered Tibet at the age of 17 and studied Buddhism in jiebazachang of sera temple for 13 years. Later, he transferred to xiamiyuan to study Buddhism and became a famous monk of the generation of Botong Xianmi. Appointed by the seventh Dalai Lama, he returned to Qinghai, built the laga temple in 1769, and established the Xianzong College of the temple by using the jiebazachang tutorial of the sera temple. He personally presided over the affairs of the temple for 24 years. The sixth Panchen Lama once awarded him the name of "Erdeni mergen Kanbu". In the 58th year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty (1793), arugexi paid the power to rosanda jijiacuo (1759-1824). Since then, successive Living Buddhas of xiangsa have become the masters of laga temple. The xiangsa system lasted for five generations until the liberation of the whole country. During the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, the Qing government granted the name of "xiangsa Banzhida". In the early years of the Republic of China, because of the praise for the Republic of China, the Kuomintang government was granted the title of "master Puji". It is a very influential living Buddha in Qinghai. Its Fu Qiu was built in Ta'er temple, Deqian temple, Longwu temple and other temples. There are brocade cockroaches given to xiangsa living Buddha by master Panchen and master Zhangjia in the temple.

From 1952 to 1958, there were 12 halls and 150 rooms in laga temple, and 1100 rooms in angqian and Sangha. The whole temple covers an area of more than 700 mu. In addition, there is a Panchen Palace on the right side of the back of Cui temple. In 1958, there were 29 Living Buddhas, 4 monks, 4 Jingtou, 1 serving Kanbu and more than 1300 monks. The temple's leader is gexihua, and the housekeeper is dander. He once served as the county magistrate of Tongde County, the governor of Hainan state, and the vice chairman of the Provincial Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference. From 1958 to the "Cultural Revolution", the temple was destroyed twice, causing serious damage. Since its opening in 1880, it has been restored to a large scale. Now it has 5 large and small halls with 397 rooms, 8 angqian halls with 182 rooms, 6 conversion rooms, 124 monk houses and 120 cattle. Some people believe in this temple include Hebei Township, laga Township, Jungong Township and other counties in Tongde County, Hainan Province. At present, there are 396 monks, including Jiawa (Mingqing zhijiancuo, now vice chairman of the county CPPCC), Gary (Mingan muquehe, now living in Hainan), Zori, manxiu and so on. The current monk is Danzeng (also known as Muqun).

"Tuosanglin" in Dajing Hall

There is a large Sutra hall "tuosanglin" in the temple, which is divided into five academies, namely upper and lower esoteric academy, Yiming academy, Shilun academy and Danzheng Academy. Every year, there are praying Dharma association from the first day to the 15th day of the first month, supporting Dharma association from the third day to the 15th day of the third month, and "Wugong Festival" at the end of October. There are Longge temple in Jiuzhi County, xiarihu temple in Gande county and ahandale temple in Tianjun County, Haixi Prefecture. There are many eminent monks in the temple, and many works are handed down from generation to generation. Among them, Xihe zosangre's "summary of calendar calculation", xiangsa's "theory of evidence", "explanation of theory of cause" and "complete works of saikangwa" are influential in Tibetan areas. More than 50000 pieces of Muhai steamed bread, such as ganzhur, were stored in the Sutra printing house of xiangsalarang. In addition, the temple was originally for Sakyamuni, Maitreya Buddha and the golden word "ganzhur" and so on, which were also famous for burning.
