The main scenic spots in the scenic area are Yanzi cave, Yantian ferry, YANZIYA, tianmenya, Shanbao cave, Yunhai Foguang, Hongping Gallery, etc. The Hongping gallery and the ancient rhinoceros cave need to buy tickets separately.

Tianyan primitive ecotourism area

Tianyan primitive ecotourism area is located in the northwest of Shennongjia, with a total area of 926.24 square kilometers. It is a primitive eco-tourism area with the background of primitive forest scenery, the connotation of Shennong legend and simple mountain forest culture, and the integration of strange trees, flowers, caves, peaks and folk customs, with the theme of reflecting primitive antiquity and exploring.

In the scenic area, the vast forest sea, the beautiful scenery, especially the "male, beautiful, secluded and wild" are the characteristics of beauty. Located at the intersection of the north and the south of China, the natural vegetation in this area can be divided into a series of vegetation types, such as coniferous forest, broad-leaved forest, bamboo forest, shrub, mountain grass, meadow, swamp and so on. The rich animal and plant resources are very considerable. In addition, the air is fresh and the environment is quiet. It is a good place to carry out green tourism.

In 2003, it was rated as AAAA scenic spot by National Tourism Administration.

Tianmenya

Tianmenya is 2328m above sea level, 12km away from Hongping. It is close to Donggou and Haofang in the southwest, and faces YANZIYA in the northeast. On both sides of tianmenya, the cliffs are stacked with rocks, and pine, birch, yew and mountain flowers are mixed. Every morning on a sunny day, when the clouds are diffuse or the sun is slanting, the clouds pass through the mountain pass, and the mountain pass is looming; on a cloudy day, the clouds stay all day long, and the car lights and honks when passing in the daytime. It is named because it is often covered by clouds and mists, and it is as cloudy as the sky.

YANZIYA

YANZIYA is a pass with an altitude of 2200 meters. National Highway 209 runs through the cliff. On the cliff, pine and fir are green, and red birch is covered with cotton. From a distance, you can see the mountains on both sides of the cliff. It looks like a flying swallow spreading its wings. Because there is a famous Yanzidong nearby, it is named "YANZIYA". YANZIYA is a man-made gully. In order to connect the 209 national highway, 108 workers, called "100 Dan Ba Jiang", worked in groups of four every day and night. They used more than 50 days to drill 27 blasting shafts here. Then each shaft was filled with explosives, and 7500 kg of explosives were loaded into one shaft at zhengyakou. On the day of blasting, as soon as the detonating motor turned, the sound of blasting suddenly shook the sky. The rocks were divided into four parts, flying sand and moving rocks, whistling past, and there was a tendency of overwhelming. After that, this artificial gully appeared.

Swallow Cave

Yanzi cave is a landmark landscape of YANZIYA. The cave is deep and quiet with a height of about 20 meters. It is quite wide and can hold thousands of people. There is a side hole on the right side and a small hole on the upper left side. It comes out of the cliff and sunlight can shine into the hole. There are many stalactites in the cave, the sound of water drops is like a harp, and swallow nests are all over the cave wall. The swishing sound of the Golden Swallow is endless, and the cold wind is blowing. About 50 meters into the hole, there is no light, the more you go in, the more dark, less than 100 meters, you can't see your fingers. But these swallows are totally unaware that when swallows return to their nests, there are countless. They don't hit the cliff, they don't collide with each other, they can fall back to their nest in the dark.

Flying across the clouds

Feiyundu is a steel structure observation bridge over the gully of YANZIYA. The steel bridge is high in suspension and long in span. It is the highest landscape bridge in Asia. It's amazing and fascinating to get on the Yantian ferry, the unpredictable natural landscape and the boundless virgin forest. The old boxwood on both sides of the Strait, the simple tulip rock cypress, the vigorous and straight fir, the animals and birds flying in the forest, all are so harmonious and quiet, comfortable and serene.

Zizhu River

Zizhu river is located in taping folk village of Tianyan scenic area. The folk customs here are simple and pure, emitting a strong and fresh mountain flavor, reflecting the mysterious and simple charm of the mountains and forests. Tourists can live in farmhouses, participate in agricultural production, harvest and work, eat local green mountain treasures, learn to sing folk songs, be mountain people, and deeply experience Shennongjia mountain folk customs.

Hongping Gallery

Hongping gallery is located in Tianyan scenic area, with an altitude of 1600 meters and a total length of 15 kilometers. It is a high mountain and gorge zone with the most distinctive mountain landscape. There are 36 peaks, including one stone and two streams, three waterfalls and four bridges, five pools and six caves, seven pagodas and eight stockaded villages, and Lianhua peak. It is a natural gallery with the reputation of being strange, strange, dangerous and beautiful.

Bus routes

The main mode of transportation in and out of Shennongjia is highway. Mainly from Shiyan and Yichang. From Shiyan to Songbai Town, and from Yichang to Shennongjia to Muyu town.

Yichang to Shennongjia: it's better to take the express bus from Yichang to Xingshan County, which runs every 30 minutes for three and a half hours on the way, and then take the bus from Xingshan to Shennongjia Muyu for one and a half hours, which is more convenient. If you go to Shennongjia directly from Yichang, there is only one bus every day, which is inconvenient.

Shiyan City to Shennongjia: Shiyan City is about 202 kilometers away from Shennongjia. It takes about 7 hours by car. It runs every day and starts at 7:00 a.m.

Wuhan → Shennongjia: you can take a long-distance bus at Xinhua road long-distance bus station. There is a sleeper bus from Wuhan to Xingshan County at 8:00 p.m. every day, and it will arrive at Xingshan County at 6:00 a.m. the next day. There are minibuses in Xingshan to reach Muyu town of Shennongjia (60km), and there are buses every half an hour. You can also take the train from Wuhan to Shiyan (10:00 p.m. train, more than 6:00 a.m. to Shiyan), then take the bus at 7:30 a.m. to the bus station, and you can get to Songbai town in Shennongjia at noon.

Chongqing → Shennongjia: you can get off at Badong port by boat. There is a shuttle bus to Shennongjia at 5:30 every day in Badong. You can also get off the ship at Xiangxi Wharf (small passenger ships only stop), and then take a bus to Xingshan, and then take a bus to Muyu Town, Shennongjia. The traffic is very convenient.

The traffic in Shennongjia scenic area is convenient, and all buses that leave before 7:30 a.m. pass through the scenic area. If you miss the bus, you can also rent a minibus. The price is about 200 yuan / day.

Xiangyang to Shennongjia: Xiangyang - Nanzhang - Baokang (Houping - Maqiao) - pines and cypresses - Wenshui - Shennongjia.

Shiyan to Shennongjia: Shiyan Fangxian gangchangping Yantian Hongping Muyu Town, the whole journey is 270 km, and the car takes about five hours.

Yichang to Shennongjia: Yichang - Huanghua - Xiaofeng - Wudu River - Gaolan - Xiakou - Gaoyang town - Muyu Town, the whole journey is 210 km, the car takes about four hours.

From Wuhan to Shennongjia, you can take a long-distance bus at Xinhua road long-distance bus station. There is a sleeper bus from Wuhan to Xingshan County at 8:00 p.m. every day, and the ticket price is 90 yuan / person at 6:00 a.m. the next day. You can also take the train from Wuhan to Shiyan first (the train at 10:00 p.m., to Shiyan at more than 6:00 a.m.), and then take the bus at 7:30 a.m. at the bus station In the afternoon, you can get to Shennongjia; in Xingshan, you can get to Muyu town of Shennongjia by minibus (60km), and there is a bus every half an hour. The ticket price is 10 yuan / person.
